Stayed in a 3 bed private room and it was a good experience. The hostel has a cool 60's vibe with comfy tatami mats and is in a good location with only a 5min walk to the nearest station or around 15 mins to the huge shopping strip in shinsaibashi! They also offer a simple breakfast for only 300 yen

What a gem!! We stayed only 1 night but quickly convinced that it was a great choice. We shared a traditional 3 bedroom room for 2 people on the second level. It was very spacious and was made up of 2 rooms with one wall being a cupboard for storage. The futons were clean and warm with generous bedding. One con of this place was lugging our heavy suitcases up the flight of stairs at the entrance. The poor female staff member had to lug it up to the room, and two suitcases (I don't even know how she did it). The only other point I can add as a down-side for some is the noise factor. The walls are fairly thin (which is common for Japan) so you can hear the other guests at times. However the hostel kindly provides ear plugs to everyone. This didn't bother me though. Everything else was perfect.

The room was so spacious, loved the decor, the bathroom was clean, although I used the 3rd floor shower because it was a cooler design. The design of the whole hostel was so funky and chic with so much character. The lobby was a great place to hang out and re fuel. The staff was so kind and helpful. We ended up making a couple of friends with two girls who worked there and joined a local yoga class with them and dinner after. Our time at hostel 64 was a highlight of our trip to Japan. Really pleased with this hostel. If you like funky interiors and a warm atmosphere for a budget price, you won't be disappointed. You will gain a real feel for Osaka staying here. Loved it!

Oasak 64 is an ideal place for our budget trip. my boyfriend and I had been traveling around Asia for a few months, so we can't afford to spend luxury. but we'd like to stay comfortably, that's why we picked this one. the staff are amazingly wonderful while they tried to help with everything from direction to trip planning. the rooms are not very big, but cozy and homey. just like most other Japanese hostels, the bathrooms are clean and well maintained. although Osaka is not a big city and I might not come back, but if I do, I will definitely stay here again.

I went to Osaka twice , for first time i stayed at Hana Hostel. if i compare the location between Hostel 64 VS Hana , for the person who like quiet area then go for Hostel64 but if you like just a few walk to shopping area then go for Hana

For the room at hostel 64 it is very artist style which is i like because when i sit in at the lobby i can feel very relax and chill especially hot coffee in the morning look out through the window. It such a freezing moment time for me

I stay 4th floor and unfortunately wifi is not available at this floor :(

overall is nice for person who like quiet area

Room Tip: 4th floor is no wifi connection

It's a bit hard to find but this hidden jewel is not like any others. Keeping in mind that it's a backpackers hostel, it exceeds the standards of almost every other backpackers. The beds are arranged, dorm style, with curtains, providing enough privacy.

I really enjoyed the common room, it was cozy and beautifully designed. I also didn't mind the company of the receptionist which gave me a few recommendations on places to visit around the area while I was waiting for my laundry to dry. Very friendly staff and everyone else very laid back. Cheap breakfast too. Too bad I only stayed here for one night, would've stayed longer had I not book my accommodations for the following nights. This was also my first time staying in a dorm (if you don't count capsules).

The dorms in this hostel are unlike anything I've come across before. Dorms have single beds, with privacy separators so it almost feels like you have you own room. All equipped with little lights and charging sockets, along with a small lock box for valuables. The hostel itself is artfully designed and there is a great chill out area in the lobby. There are tatami style showers which provide a little bit of authentic Japanese culture to your morning routine. Very close to two metro stations and 10 mins walk from the famous Dotonbori street with its street food and bars. The staff were really helpful and knowledgeable, giving me great tips on how to best spend my very short time in Osaka. Wish I had spent more time here!
