Just like other Toyoko inn, its a very standard and clean hotel.
The reception counter speaks very limited English (when compared to the reception at Shijuku Toyoko inn).
Excellent location for shopping.

If you ever stayed in any Toyoko Inn hotel before, you need no reading up on what to expect. They are consistently good, clean and affordable - like clones.

This particular one which we stayed during the last week of November autumn peak 2011 was situated behind the main street. Not easy to locate for 1st time visitor to Osaka.

It is a very long walk from the main Shinsaibashi shopping street (20 minutes) and even further from Dotonbori (25 minutes), the food street. If you have old folks or fussy young kids travelling with you, this is not the ideal hotel as the long walk to 'civilisation' may be unbearable for some.

Excellent for room quality but average for location.

Room tip: Both Toyoko Inn hotels in Shinsaibashi and Namba Osaka are not really that near to your usual food and shopping district as they claimed. Be prepared to walk quite a distance.

We have been to Japan many times. And we always try and search out a Toyoko Inn for our accommodation. They are always centrally located (very important), near transportion (subway, tram, etc.), very reasonable in price (usually less than $85), and always includes a breakfast. Yes, the rooms are small, but since you're going to be out and about during the day, you really only need a safe hotel with a good bed and bathroom facilities. And speaking of bathroom facilities: have you ever used a Toto toilet? This is an amazing toilet. You'll LOVE this toilet. And the pillow is interesting, too. One side is fileld with some type of "bead." Therefore, it's nice, firm and you can change the shape of the support for your head. This particular Toyoko Inn is about one minute walking distance to the nearest metro station. If I have to compare this Toyoko Inn to the one at Namba, I'd probably have to go with Namba because of its closeness to Namba station (an amazing place in itself-----shops, restaurants, metro stop, major train station). There's more going on at the Namba area. I thought the service, though, was better at the Shinsaibashi location. If the Namba one was all booked up, I'd have no problem staying at Shinsaibashi again.

Room tip: Use www.toyokoinn.com for reservations.

It's close to Shinsaibasi, you can go there by walking in 10 minutes.
It's really a good place to stay if you went there shopping.
