“Blossoms”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2012

This place has the best cherry blossoms around. They bloom a little later than the regular type, but are so spectacular. Approach from the south side as the walkway is one-way only.

“Osaka Japan Mint blossom festival is great.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2012

If you are around Osaka during the opening of the Japan Mint, it is an experience not to be missed. The Mint opens its path along the water, planted with hundreds of cherry trees. The blossoms are as spectacular as the huge crowds flocking there (mainly locals). From the bridge near the Tenmabashi Station (Tanimachi subway line) to the Mint, there are tens of stands selling mainly typical foods. Inside the Mint, there is a one-way system in place, because of the huge number of people to control. The path is also opened at night, and of course, is illuminated. There are endless photo opportunities, and this is apparently the game everyone is playing. It's all done in a nice atmosphere though.

The only problem is that the path is only opened to the public once a year and the date only revealed a month before, as it depends on the blossom timing, so difficult to plan from abroad. See the Mint website for more information (http://www.mint.go.jp/eng/index.html).

“Organised but Need English Guides”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2011

Enjoyed my brief tour of the museum. Didn't stay long due to the lack of English description but most of it is self explaining. You need to enter the main entrance to the Mint before walking to the museum.
