Osaka Castle grounds are more interesting than the castle donjon (which is a reconstructed modern concrete building). After walking thru the second gate (Sakuramon Gate) one finds himself at Sakuramon-masugata Square where the wall built with immense stones, Takoishi (octopus stone) and Furisodeishi (long-sleeved kimono stone). The plaza in front of the donjon is the most crowded and hectic place in the park, other areas are peaceful and quiet. Walking the outside perimeter of the castle provides a great overview of the castle's formidable fortifications, re-entry to the park available thru other gates
