“The Dotonbori is right around the corner”
Reviewed December 11, 2013

The hotel is only one block from the Dotonbori and you're basically right in the middle of the action. So once you're done drinking for the night, the hotel is only a short walk away! You cannot beat the location and convenience. With the Dotonbori right next door, there's plenty of bars, restaurants, clubs, and more within a block or two. It is relatively far from the Nanba subway station - as it was a relatively far walk when we carried our luggage.

Yes, there are probably hookers, pimps, shady looking girls and guys trying to get you up to clubs in close proximity to the hotel, but never once did I feel threatened or unsafe. The aforementioned folks were harmless Actually, there's a police station one block from the hotel so there was an extra sense of security.

The room itself was extremely large even when compared to a Western hotel. There was plenty of space to put our luggage in the closet, but there was plenty of empty space as well. The beds were comfortable, but like all Japanese beds, a bit hard. There was no view from our room, unfortunately. The bathroom was also large along with a large tub/shower. The shower curtains didn't completely run the length of the tub/shower, so a lot of water would leak out during a shower. The room was fairly clean, albeit my UV blacklight did find a small stain on the bed headboard. Unfortunately, there were no English speaking channels in their TV lineup.

Service from the front desk was adequate. Unfortunately, the English proficiency of the staff was a bit limited, but I was able to communicate with them using broken and simple English.

The breakfast offered was decidedly below average. The breakfast is served in the hotel's restaurant/cafe for 1400 yen (app. $14 USD)/person. Though there was a large selection of items, the taste was just not very good and most items were not hot. There was a fairly large selection of juices though (vegetable, orange, etc.). I would suggest that people go eat ramen at the nearby Ichiran (which is open 24 hours/day) for breakfast instead.

Highly recommend this hotel to first time visitor to Osaka, it's not too far from the closest metro. The location is awesome! The main shopping area and Dotonburi is just outside the hotel. So much to do if u just want to hang out around the hotel.

The hotel room is clean and big enough for japan standard. will definitely go back to this hotel if i visit osaka again.

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights recently. I thought the double room we had is spacious enough for Japanese standard. Nice and clean..most importantly, there is free wifi in the room ;)
Location is good, just in the heart of Dotonbori. Love it, especially when this hotel is just steps away from the famous and delicious Ichiran Ramen ( opened 24 hours whole year round ) And you could walk to Shinsaibashi & Ebisubashi ( lots of shopping and restaurants ) in just 2-3 minutes...Although this hotel is located in the so called red light district, as long as you do not walk alone at night, the people there will definitely not bother you.

This hotel's official website says it takes 3 min on foot from Namba subway station (Midosuji Subway Line, Sennichimae Subway Line, Yotsubashi Subway line). For me, I think it takes more than 3 min walk though.
When you reached Namba subway station, look for exit no. 15b. ( I think the following is the best way to find your way to the hotel on your arrival day )
Once you are at ground level, turn right and go straight. After 2nd block, turn right , few steps in, you will see the Osaka Shochikuza 大阪松竹座 - Kabuki Theatre on your right ( look at the picture of this theatre in my photos ). Go straight again, as you walk you would be entering Doutonbori, Tsutaya & Starbucks would be on your right, the restaurant with the big crab on your left. Turn after the first block, you will walk across a bridge ( there is a sign board in Japanese that says - bridge for pedestrain only ). As you walk, you will see Ichiran Ramen on your left..then turn right after the bridge...30m in , main entrance of Vista Hotel would be on your left.

The Hotel is located near Dotombori area. Plenty of restaurant and bar. The area are very lively with all the peoples and lights. The room is a bit bigger than the Japanese standard. They have a tea / coffee making facility in the room however they do not provide a tea spoon. There is a window between the room and the bathroom. You can watch TV while you are in the bath tub.

Room Tip: "Near to the 400 years old bridge" "Plenty of restaurant nearby".

Hotel room was 'spacious' for Japanese standards. Bathroom had a little window that looked out into the hotel room which added to the sense of space. The room was very clean and everything worked well. Concierge service was variable. One staff member went out of his way to help us activate our Japanese sim, while another one flatly refused. In all, the hotel was good value for money by Japanese standards in a great location. There are a few groups of hosts and hostesses who hang around just outside the hotel, but they are not threatening in any way. On the contrary, they seemed quite disinterested in us (presumably we aren't their typical clientele since we're travelling as a couple).

Pretty average. Staff impersonal and would not allow check in before 3 pm exactly even though there were lots of people waiting for their rooms. TV programs in Japanese only. Rooms OK for the price. My room had a view of a dilapidated building next door.
No noise from the street though the Hotel is in the midst of the action with Shinsaibashi shopping arcade two minutes away. The area quite safe and the hookers don't bother foreigners.
