“Good hotel with a decent location”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

Stayed here during a business trip. The room (which was a double room) was decent and comfortable enough, although rather small. The hotel's location is good, walking distance to a big shopping centre. There is also a convenience store (open 24/7) located on the ground floor, so you can grab a quick bite to eat.

It was a Japanese holiday weekend, so the only hotel available that we could find was the Cosmosquare Hotel. It's located in a nice, clean, high-tech business office district (near IBM, etc). Once we found the hotel and when we walked into the huge atrium, it smelled horribly of cigarette smoke. We checked into our small, very tight double room with ensuite bathroom. In all of my traveling around the world, I have never seen such dirty carpeting anywhere. The carpet in the hallways was buckled and horribly stained; in our room, we didn't want to take our shoes off. It also smelled of smoke and the walls were yellowed. If we would have had other choices, we would not have stayed there. The breakfast was 100% Japanese--not even a crumb of bread to eat. If you like raw fish, fish soup and seaweed, it might be OK. I don't know. The one plus: each floor had a complementary washer/dryer-- you just need to buy the detergent at the front desk for 300YEN. The hotel was also one of the most expensive of our 2 1/2 week stay.

I stayed at the Cosmosquare Hotel and Congress for a week. The hotel is located in the Osaka business district and was very convenient for the purpose of my trip. The hotel is 15 min walk from the closest metro station which will take you downtown Osaka.

I had a double room which was small but very neat and cozy. The bathroom was spotless though it took me a while to figure out how to use the toilet (there was a panel with dozens of buttons on it!). Room service was performed on a daily basis. Staff tried their best to satisfy the customer needs. However, if you are traveling from Europe, make sure you have a converter (they use US style plugs in Japan) for your laptop or any other electronic equipment. I did not know about it and ended up being without my laptop for a few days. There were only a few converters at the hotel, so I had to wait until some guest returned it to the reception upon departure. You cannot find it in the nearby shops either.

Hotel offered a very rich breakfast with a great variety. Japanese food was available as well. The entire hotel had super high speed internet connection. I really enjoyed my stay at the Cosmosquare Hotel and Congress and it is 100% recommended!
