“Convenient location, value for money”
Reviewed July 9, 2014

The hotel located within 5 minutes (slow) walking distance to Shinsaibashi subway station, where you can catch trains to Tennoji for JR airport line.

Hotel front desk staffs are helpful. It conveniently located near shopping, dinning and entertainment venues.

The room is standard small Japanese size, but clean. If you are a reasonable tourist, the room will satisfy your needs.

Wifi is generally not available in room, it's available free of charge in the lobby. If you are staying on level 2 above the lobby, you may get one or two bar weak reception.

The front desk sells Kansai Thru Pass. With the pass you can travel around Kansai area, including Nara and Kyoto freely. For most destinations, you don't have to buy limited express ticket (please check the product information carefully). Please google to find more details if you are interested.

I booked the room in March 2014 for travelling in June 2014. It cost me about $70 USD per night. I will recommend this hotel to my friends.

Room Tip: The room above lobby may have free lobby wifi reception.

My "very good" rating takes into consideration VALUE FOR MONEY. Do not expect luxury; it's a small hotel that is practical and purpose-filled. More details below:

1. LOCATION - excellent and right in the heart of Shinsaibashi, close to all the dining and shopping. I prefer Shinsaibashi near Daimaru Department Store (quality of neighbourhood) to Osaka Station or Namba Station. Just a very short walk from the subway station, even with luggage.

2. ROOM - typical of affordable chain hotels in Japan, which are small, but with everything you need for a comfortable stay for the night. Clean overall, but with occasional spots that could be cleaned a bit more thoroughly. Pay a little more for the twin rooms, as the semi-doubles or doubles can be claustrophobic.

3. SERVICE - efficient and helpful. Do not expect a concierge to service you, but the staff on duty are professional.

4. WIFI - only available in the lobby, but wired internet is available in the room. FREE.

Go for Hearton Hotel Shinsaibashi, especially if you don't want to spend too much and that all you need is place to sleep. Save the money for the more expensive onsen hotels.

My stay here was only average at best. The hotel was fairly dated and the only positive point was that it was conveniently located near the Shinsaibashi shopping district. However, it is a considerable distance from Namba Nankai, for when you're travelling to/fro the airprort.

The service of the front desk while not bad was lack lustre if you compare to the service standards of other hotels in Japan.

The room was dark and gloomy, probably due to the fact that there wasn't any natural sunlight available as the only window seemed to be blocked by the wall of a neighbouring building. My room was located on the 4th floor. Perhaps this might not be the case on the higher levels.

I would not return here unless I have no other choice.

Hv stayed for six nights and its truly enjoyable trip where this hotel is definitely
a good choice for travellers as in leisure or business trip. Its strategic located
as downtown where shopping paradise , restaurants and other attractions
are nearby with short walking distance as namba, dotonbori and shinsaibahshi suji.
As the room seizure, although it was a mini size but overall truly remarkable clean
and tidy and again thnks agoda for the good value price we had for this trip.
The front desk officers were truly helpful where giving guidance of advise on
our seek of osaka subway and JR trains transaction.
Overall, will definitely to visit Osaka again eventhou having some language barrier
between two countries. As in whole, Japs are truly having its own culture with
politeness, sincerity and caring with luving one another - ' Ichiban'.

Room Tip: Hope forefront that rooms will hv wifi connections instd of Lan cable. As current wifi is only av...

Great value hotel for travelers looking for a clean room that's centrally located in the middle of the Osaka action. Despite getting a smoking room after clearly booking a no-smoking room, we have no complaints. While the rooms feel a little dated, they've been well-maintained and are immaculate. We had a functional window, nice view, tea/coffee maker and complimentary slippers and robes. One of our favorite things about the room was the bed's headboard control center: lights, AC and over 400 commercial free radio stations! Oh, and note the "deluxe double" bed is very small - felt more like an oversized twin bed. I'd recommend this place and stay here again.

Stayed here for 5 days in February 2014. This was my second visit to Osaka. The first time I stayed near Shinsaibashi and loved the location, and was looking to stay nearby again.

For the price, the rooms are very basic. Definitely to smaller side, as is common with Japanese hotel rooms, but you won't be in your room for very long considering all the amazing offerings around you. Just a minute walk to the famous Shinsaibashi shopping strip, a 5 minute walk down the road to Dotonbori for endless food options and Amerika-mura is just behind the hotel. Subway station is about a minute away. Location is everything with this hotel!

There is no complimentary wifi in rooms, only in the lobby. However, you can purchase a portable wifi from reception for 500yen a day. Very cheap, considering it was only around AUD$6. But if a room near yours has the portable wifi already, it is possible to use theirs.

Vending machines are on certain levels, as are ice machines. Convenience stores are nearby (closest one is towards Amerika-mura) for more drinks and snacks.

So many choices around the hotel for food! The cafe right across from the hotel entrance, Planet 3rd, does amazing food. If you walk from the hotel straight down the street towards Shinsaibashi, there's also a place on the right, just before you hit the shopping strip, that does the best brunch I've ever had in my life (right next door to the jewellery store, the cafe is of the same name). Shakey's all-you-can-eat is along the strip, as are many teppanyaki and traditional Japanese choices. You're spoiled for choice in this area.

Overall, this hotel is well-worth the price if you're simply looking for somewhere to sleep after a long day of exploring Osaka and the nearby areas. Shinsaibashi station is only 4 stops away from Osaka station if you're heading to Kobe or Kyoto for day trips. Namba station is a 10-15 minute walk away for more JR lines to/from/around Osaka.

Great budget choice for shopping addicts or foodies. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Awesome location in Osaka. Plenty of food and bars within walking distance. Around the corner from the Apple store. Great clothes shops, tattoo parlours, izakayas... and a short walk to Dotonbori and other attractions. There's a great cafe on the corner next to the hotel across the street that's run by two lovely old ladies who will cook a fantastic home style meal for you. Would definitely stay here again.
