Great value

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Sep 23, 2012via mobile
Just 2 minutes subway ride from Shinkansen station, and 5 min from Osaka.

Room is a little bit old fashioned (No A/C temp control switch in each room, 2 tap water handles for water temp control) but well maintained.

We stayed at this hotel on two occasions and we had a great stay both times.

Good and friendly service, very clean rooms, very comfortable bed, good internet connection (cable, no wifi) and free wifi in the reception area (stable connection). The offered body soap and shampoo were shisheido products (= very good quality).

Of course, the bed and bathroom were small but that's how the hotel rooms are in Japan. ;-)

The hotel is only one subway station away from Shin-Osaka and 5 minutes away by walk from the station „Nishinakajima-Minamigata“. The hotel is located in a quiet and save area with only a few restaurants as it is a business area. Namba, a lively area with plenty of restaurants and shops, can be reached within 15 min. by subway (Midosuji Line).

We highly recommend this hotel.

Room tip: Higher floors have a better view and more day light.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel in July 2012. We wanted something reasonably priced, clean and near public transport. This hotel ticks all of these boxes. It is a five minute walk from a subway station and should you need to get to Shin Osaka train station you can get the subway; it's only a couple of stops. There are also two Family Mart shops two minutes away.

The staff were very friendly and although they didn't speak great English, we didn't expect them to, after all it is a foreign country! They were helpful and attentive, which was good enough for us.

Considering how noisy Japan is - at times almost an assault on the senses - this hotel is very quiet. If you are looking for a place to sleep peacefully that won't cost a fortune, it is for you!

Lastly, big tip, make sure you get a double room instead of a semi double. We stayed twice and the first time had a semi double, meaning that the bed was little more than a Western single. My husband and I aren't big people, but struggled to sleep comfortably. Remember also that you are in Japan. Rooms are small in reasonably priced hotels as space comes at a premium, don't expect acres of room.

Have a great trip, wish I was going back soon!!!

I decided to stay in this hotel for 9 nights because of its proximity to Shin-Osaka station and reasonable prices.

However, as close as it seems to Shin-Osaka station, it's still quite a walk (somewhere around 15-20 minutes) and especially annoying if you're carrying luggage with you.

It's not that hard to find and it's close to the large riverside park (a few blocks away).

The rooms are clean but relatively small, although most Japanese rooms are small. The bathroom was very small and it was completely made out of plastic (including the floor). There's a balcony outside but there's no doors to it, although climbing out of your window is an option, since they can open all the way. The beds don't even deserve the name beds, they're extremely hard and very uncomfortable for Western standards and just uncomfortable for Japanese standards.

It should be noted that the front desk didn't speak a single word of English and were reluctant to try and speak it at all. It's also required to drop your key (it does not use key-cards but old fashioned keys) at the front desk whenever you leave, even if it's just a few minutes to the convenience store.

All-in-all, good value but the hotel is very mediocre.

The hotel is 10 minutes walk from nearest station. We arrived at 9AM and they allowed us to store our baggage. They placed us in the 10th floor and from the windows the view are great. At 3 PM we check in and the room have oven, eating room, and a sink washer. The private bathroom is clean. The receptionist open only until 6pm, but you get password to open the door at night.

Overall, compare to price we pay (and in reference that it is in Japan), the room we got is great and relatively bigger.

I stayed here with my partner for five days in March. As it was my partner's first time out of Australia, we wanted somewhere that had staff who spoke English, and close enough to the city and transport without needing taxis. This hotel was perfect. The staff were friendly, and even replied to an email I sent in advance due to a late arrival.
As we were coming from an Australian summer, we were concerned about how warm the room would be, and had read reviews that told us the hotel was cold. What we found was the exact opposite. Walking in from 8 degree temperatures, we were peeling off layers of clothing while we signed forms in the lobby!
On our first day, the staff pointed us in the direction of the train station, and a convenience store where my partner could get cigarettes. They also assisted us with using the computers, so we could contact family back home, and with restaurants in the area.
The rooms were kept clean, the beds were made immaculately every day, but we saw a cleaner once our entire stay (we practiced our very poor Japanese on her) so it was very unobtrusive.
Throughout our entire trip, which included stays in Tokyo and Melbourne, this was by far the best hotel we stayed in. It's a hotel I have already recommended to friends and family, and will be trying to stay at for our next trip back!
