“Matsu Sho An, a 120-year old traditional timber house that beckons us back to Kyoto whenever we speak of Japan.”

Staying in this beautifully restored traditional Japanese timber house was special and memorable for our family of 4. No modern chairs and tables, only the traditional cushions on tatami floor and sleeping on futon. A real taste of Japanese living. Japanese paper on the partitioned doors reminded us of the Samurai movies that we've watched. The Japanese bath (ofuro) provided us much relaxation after a long day of walking and sight-seeing. Located near a subway makes it a convenient place to stay.

A must stay if you're visiting Kyoto and looking for a totally Japanese living experience.
