Choose this hotel with the help of reviewers' reviews and also it allows triple room sharing. With a 3rd person in the room, there isn't much space for our luggage. Comfortable bed and pillows even the extra pull out bed. Everything else in room is in good working condition. The extra mirror is useful when 3 ladies are in the same room! Location of the hotel is good if you are travelling by train though the walk to the hotel can be a bit tiring and if you have been travelling for the past 15 hours. It is a perfect hotel if you will be travelling around Kyoto via bus/train because the interchange is just 5 minutes away.

It feels a cop out just titling this good location, but after a long day and a trip on the Shinkansen, a hotel close to the station is great. The shopping centre in between has a whole floor full of restaurants and at one point from the lift, we saw two Bullet trains at the station but unfortunately did not have a camera. On both mornings we chose to go to the top floor for a traditional Kyoto breakfast which surprisingly kept us going for most of the day. Well worth a good review, staff were excellent and looked after our luggage prior to check in and well after check out.

Room Tip: We could hear the pedestrian crossing from our room (floor 8), which was switched off late at night...

Rooms pinched and décor tired, queues at reception, long waits in the morning for the lift, this hotel is saved by its location - though even this is the wrong side of the station....anything you would want to visit is the other side of Kyoto Station which is of course very fine but a long way to cross.

Unfortunately, we had four nights at this hotel. The queue for breakfast was so long one morning - over half an hour - we had to walk away. Management's efforts to speed things up were hopeless.

We stayed at seven hotels in Japan and all the others were fine to excellent. Not this one!

Room Tip: Just avoid this hotel until there are reports that management has been improved.

Limited English spoken here.No concierge.
However close to Kyoto station and downstairs is the Keihan Regular Tour Bus company where you can book tours with credit card.
Had i known that the Keihan bus also serves Kansai airport directly, I would have taken this route to the hotel from Kansai airport.By train you have to lug your own luggage to the airport train terminal and then from the Kyoto terminal to the station whereas the bus stops right at the hotel.

Located next to Kyoto station this hotel is easy to find and is in a great location from which to explore Kyoto. As I was on a business trip I stayed in a single room - which was quite compact - but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. I only stayed one night so can't do a more in depth review, but worth noting are the top floor restaurant and bar areas, where the panoramic views over Kyoto and the surrounding mountains are breath-taking. I have to admit though that viewing the changing colours of the sky as evening turned to nigh time, whilst sipping on a cold beer, was an experience that would have been better shared with someone dear rather than, in this instance, just a work colleague.

I fully enjoyed this hotel in Kyoto. We stayed here two nights as a part of a Japan tour and was very happy with it. Great room, great bathroom, location is excellent, very close to station and lots of shopping options nearby. Highly recommended.
