Very comfortable hotel, the staff was helpful, they spoke English, the breakfast was fantastic, free wireless internet, clean rooms, wacky colored walls but that added to the charm, great location. Would stay there in a heartbeat again.

Very central location.

Rooms clean and conformable, normal Japanese size but they why are you sitting around in your room for anyway??? get out and explore.

I stayed at the sister hotel of this one in Osaka, I would recommend both. Both are very busy and you need to pay extra for early or late check in *1000 yen per hr . Don't assume you can as the both hotels had near 100% occupancy during our stays. Oh and i loved the little wedding chapels in both.

Plus points,
Free WIFI
Service,
Location,
Value,

Minis,
No room safe * i must say that with such a low crime rate in Japan that's no big surprise,

This is a very nice looking hotel with nice room. We were very surprise at the exuberant cost the hotel charge for using the onsen. We weren't that stoke with the location, it seems more like an office area so after hours, it became a little bit 'sleepy'. It's about 15mins to Kawaramachi Dori which is the closest street with food and shopping which I think we would rather stay. We would rather have the convenience at the door step than the quality of the room/hotel.

It does have a 24hr McDonald's, two Starbucks (and other coffee shops), few convenient stores including 7-11 around the hotel. The closest subway station is Karasumaoike and cost about 210 yen per trip which quickly add-up the cost because our JR Pass doesn't include subway fares. There are plenty of cabs waiting outside the hotel which cost approximately 1000 yen from the hotel to Kyoto station.

Food in Kyoto is much more expensive than Tokyo but we found a fantastic cheap meal place near the hotel. It has the best Karaage donburi with the best miso soup I had ever have. It is a small corner very traditional shop opposite the Manga Museum. Near this shop, there's a 24hr coin laundry which provides laundry liquid and has coin changing machine.

Great location, excellent staff, comfortable room! Will stay here again! Room was small by American standards, but quite luxurious and roomy by Japanese standards. If on a budget eat outside of the hotel since its restaurants are rather expensive, but the room cost was most reasonable.

This hotel is 3 subway stops away from Kyoto station and 3 blocks away from Nishiki market. A bus stop is 5 minutes walk from hotel. You can take different buses there to visit all important tourist sites. So the location is great. The room is clean and bed is comfortable. Check in and check out are very quick. you can buy bus day pass ticket from front desk. the only problem is the people who work at the front desk only speak limited English.

Very centralized location that is walking distance to Kyoto Imperial Palace, Nishiki Market, Gion Street & the famous Kyoto Shopping District, Shijo Kawaramachi. It is also just across the street from some of TripAdvisor's best rated food joints in Kyoto. Also, if you are planning on taking a train instead of walking, train station is a mere 1-2 mins walk from the hotel! Very nice French Hotel with a lovely little Castle-like Church inside that hold Wedding Receptions on weekends.

Room Tip: Some of their rooms have very noisy air-conditioning. Do request for another room if you can as they...
