Simply awesome, boy i tell you this is a must visit during sakura season.

There was rows of stalls selling Japanese street snacks. Families having picnic at every corner of the park. Sakura showers on us when the wind blew. A moment of blissful.

Grab some snacks and eat under the sakura trees watch tthe kids running about. Sometimes a laid back holiday like this is really enjoyable. After a short break walk over to yasaka shrine.

Oh, do check out the popular weeping cherry tree at the center of the park.

Stalls was setup in the garden during sakura season. Nothing beats eating snacks while admiring sakura. Great experience.

There early April and at night this park was ablaze with lanterns, braziers and floodlit weeping cherry trees. Everyone enjoying their Hanami picnics and lots of food stalls to sample local food.

When entering this park from Yasaka Shrine, food stall is all over the walkway. It is the main hanami spot in Kyoto. Mats and tables and chairs are already provided at the park. People gathering here for drinks and eating. A very happening place start from morning until night. Night illumination also available during sakura. The giant cheery tree in the center of the park is its icon. It is a lovely park.

This is a nice park. I just missed the ancient Sakura tree bloom for the spring. Was nice and got some ice cream and relaxed by the pond. If in the area I would stop by. It's just right behind yasaka shrine!
