Kyoto in summer... Hot, humid and massively crowded... Queues everywhere! We only had 3 hours to spend in this town so we climbed up this retro-looking tower to see everything in one go from above. Great decision, in lovely air-conditioned pod we could enjoy the amazing views of Kyoto. All binoculars are free to use. There is a photo of town in 1960s and you can compare to see how the town has developed. Very interesting indeed. It wasn't busy at all.
After that we went to Sanju-sangen-do at 10 minutes walk then jumped back on the train. If your time is limited in Kyoto this a recommend plan... only when the weather is nice of course!
