This restaurant across from Kyoto station is a very nice spot to enjoy reasonably priced Japanese fare. My colleague and I found this place while wandering around by the station searching for a place to eat. It was on the lower level of the Hokke Hotel but was not difficult to spot with the sandwich board out in front. The inside appearance was crisp and bright. The menu was varied offering salads, yakitori and yakiniku, sushi, sashimi and a variety of other options. The service was excellent all evening as I have come to expect in a Japanese establishment. We decided to try several things as is typical in a place like this. We had a Caesar salad, a yakitori and yakiniku plate, a sashimi plate and some vegetable spring rolls. We also had a couple of smaller items such as edamame. We were quite happy with the quality of each of the items. We were also fairly happy with the prices as our total bill was about 5000 yen when we were done, which was not bad for a business meal in Japan. If you are near Kyoto Station and want a reasonably priced typical Japanese meal, this is a good spot to try.
