This place looks nice in the pictures ... And the hostess and waitress were nice... but the sushi is some of the worse sushi I ever had in my life. The fish is not fresh. I would not serve it to my pets. They should be ashamed to serve it.
I though all sushi in Japan should be good ... Boy was I wrong. I'm from Los Angeles and eat sushi all the time so I know good sushi. I couldn't eat most of it and had " stomach issues " right after I ate there( I don't want to go into details... But you get the picture). I don't know how they have any good reviews at all.

We came here during our first night in Kyoto. Food was very good especially the Sashimi and the Tofu with Eggplant. Tempura bento box was very good.

On arrival you feel this is high quality restaurant and the food meets expectations at reasonable prices frequented by locals. The room we were put in had some interesting renovation - seemed 'unfinished' with the light spaces and some cobwebs showing and didn't quite fit the quality or immediate ambiance of the restaurant.

Would recommend to visitors for the quality of food, but you could get similar with the many options available in and around Kyoto station.

Sushi was good. I liked the hole under the table for my dis functional knee. I little more expensive than the average sushi but a nice private dining experience.

We took our three year old and five year old while staying at the Hotel Granvia and Kyoto station. They have great child meals for around 500 to 600 yen. We took down the tuna set at 1900 yen that came with tempura, miso and tofu. It is hard to beat the quality and value of this place. The staff was very friendly.

Many fresh Sasimi, law fishes and small dishes.
Became big fan of SAKE, traditional Japanese rice wine ;-
