“Children might enjoy...”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

This park is basically a replica of a Kyoto neighbourhood set a few hundred years in the past. There are a few building you can enter and walk around. If you want to see and walk around a replica old city I suggest the Osaka housing museum instead. There are a couple of shows you can see, live dramas/performances. There is a haunted house, although not a very scary one. And there are a few people dressed up and acting like time-period characters. The park seems rather dated and unchanged since it opened decades ago. I think children might enjoy this attraction and it does offer an alternative to temple or shrine viewing. If you have an extended amount of time in Kyoto and need some extra activities, then this park may just be your answer. If you have time constraints then this is definitely one attraction you can skip. After all, Kyoto has many old preserved neighbourhoods that are much more interesting.

“great fun for kids and young at heart”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

once you enter you feel like you have stepped back in time. you have the option to join in and dress up, unfortunately we didnt as our son was too small. really enjoyed the ninja show even not knowing a word of japanese you can easily follow on, partner went into the ninja training dojo which is just obstacle courses to get through. the directors show we surprisingly found very entertaining thanks to the comedy added by the actors. a great day for the kids!

“Great fun for kids !”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

We went on a weekday, and it wasn't crowded. It's 10 min walk from any train station, so we took a taxi. After the main entrance, go to the counter on the right to buy discounted entries to multiple attractions eg. Ninja Maze, Ninja Training - it's 1600 yen for 4 attractions instead of 500 yen each separately.
We then went straight to the other end of the park for costume rental - it's 3000 yen, you get 2000 back if you return it at the end of the day. We kept ours !
Overall fantastic experience, great fun, kids had fun filming themselves 'acting' in ninja movies too in the streets. Food is good and inexpensive.

“What a great experience VS. large theme park attractions”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

This is not your typical theme park place. When stepping in, you feel like you stepped back in old Japan time. The studio set is decorated to be an old time old town Japan. There are "characters" dressed in traditional kimonos and ninja customs. There are shows throughout the day right on the streets! Enjoy the different restaurants, shops and sets. Our favorite part was dressing up as a Geisha/Ninja and taking a picture with great backdrop. Great Keep-sake! Please visit!

“Fun place for kids”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

This is a small more theatrical park for kids. My children and the adults really enjoyed the Ninja Show. It was all in Japanese but it reminded me of watching the Godzilla movies in the 70's. You heard English but it was obvious the actors were speaking a different language. Despite the difference I still loved those movies. So despite not understanding a word the kids and me had no problem understanding what was going on. This is a very theatrical show with lots of lights and acrobatics. It is definitely worth watching. The whole park is geared toward young children however even my 13 year old seemed to enjoy the park.
