we went on a hot HOT day and were exhausted-but still the Golden Pavillion was a sight well worth it!

I really enjoyed the Golden Pavillion because it really is golden! Still amazed by it and the setting which are very photogenic. Easy to get to by bus from the train station, would recommend using the buses as they are cheap and easy. Only let down is all the school children wanting to talk to you to practice their english.

This is definitely a must see in Kyoto. The temple against the water is perfection. The grounds are nice to walk around in as well with many photo opportunities.

We were lucky enough to see this on a perfectly sunny day. The reflection off the gold leaf was mesmerizing. You can't go into the shrine but the view is still amazing. Near it is a 600 year old pine tree.
Quite a crowded place but still worth the time it takes to get there and enjoy the shrine. This was built in 1397. You can easily squeeze this into a multi event day.
