The hotel is away from Kyoto but a short 20 minute train ride. The small area surrounding it is pleasant and one has the feel of close to Kyoto but not in the center. It is filled with gracious people as is typical of Japan. Going to the supermarket close by is an experience not to be missed.

Hotel management should provide water bottles none were provided had to buy other hotel like Westin Miyako gave free water to every one. Also there was no courtesy bus provided to take us either to Kyoto station or to nearest subway no help or assistance to catch early subway had to walk to subway with our luggage not ideal. Hotel is excellent no issues at all love the place and people are so friendly . Thanks you to all. Love Kyoto and will visit again. ARIGATOU - SAYONARA!!!!!!

The hotel is situated away from town. Near conference centre. Less then 5 minutes walk. Surrounded by the lots of greenery and mountains. Very peaceful location. The tube station is very near that takes you straight in to the town.
The rooms on Royal floor are better. In general rooms are specious but some of the floors have a bit run down rooms and smells of smoke. The higher the floors better the view.
Staffs are very nice but very few can speak English.
In general it's a nice hotel if you need to be near a conference centre.

It's a wonderfully designed, if concrete structure, around a central garden. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, if a little faded. It is extremely convenient for the conference centre, but nothing else.

The main problem is that the restaurants close down at 8 o'clock in the evening. Of course you can catch taxis or the metro into town, but if you're not staying here for the conference why not stay in town anyway?

The reception staff are impeccably polite and helpful, although the restaurant and bar staff can be awkward and unwelcoming (one in particular was downright hostile and rude).

The hotel we stayed in in Tokyo had a wonderful bar lounge area in the central atrium that was very welcoming and convivial, it would be so easy for them to make this one the same but it feels very conservative here, maybe because it's not Tokyo….

It was expensive and I expected / hoped for more, especially as I was staying here for six days in all.

Really efficient, helpful staff, lovely rooms and bathrooms, well-tended; restaurants tasty with lots of variety.
Several souvenir shops on site, metro station 2 minutes away; concierge service, assistance with city and airport transfers.
