A memorable experience. In every way, From the design of the entrance, to the small, but easily navigable room, and the fabulously diverse breakfast offering and very good coffee. All mixed together with very good service.

Lovely hotel just over the bridge from Sanjo-dori station. Modern entrance and reception, multi lingual staff. Room was clean though small, as is the case for most rooms in Japan. Great bathroom & shower. Not sure there are double beds but our twins pushed together easily. The French patisserie below the hotel is great for breakfast or grabbing something as you run to the nearby Geischa district. Would definitely stay here again. Our cab back to Kyoto station cost a little over 2000 yen.

I enjoyed the room and area. Not overrun with tourists but close enough tho the Ginza to stroll over there easily at night, or daytime. The staff was very friendly and the included breakfasts were good. I'd stay here again if I come back to Kyoto.

Room tip: We had a room that faced the interior. Not a special view, but it was very quiet.

We spent two nights here while on a recent holiday

Positives
+ great location with easy public transportation access and walking distance of most things
+ friendly and helpful reception team
+ decent sized room by mid priced Japanese hotel standards

Negative
- WiFi too slow to be usable

Overall, I would happily stay there again.

The Royal Park is in a very convenient and central location. Buffet breakfast is quite adequate. Rooms are likewise. The staff was extremely helpful, with many speaking good English. Our room did not have a view but was very quiet.

Room tip: Not all rooms have a good view, so inquire.
