We stayed here for two nights
Very nice new hotel, very nice Canadian manager that spoke fluent English and Japanese, although all the staff were really helpful.

Great and smooth stay. Location is great. Asides from vicinity to some of the heritage sites the hotel is right in the middle of the shopping area. There is a wide range of restaurants available within walking distance, a fabulous bakery on the ground floor and a myriad of public transportation options within 2 blocks: train, bus, underground, bike rentals. So great hub to explore kyoto and kansai. Staff at the reception with the warm japanese welcome and in most cases with a good command of English (for Japan). If possible stay away from the foreign manager as he was the only one that not only was not friendly but also not helpful.... Enjoy Kyoto

This hotel was fabulous. I wish I stayed here more than two days. The concierge was the most helpful person I met in all of Japan, and her English was great. Many people speak basic English in Japan, but don't go out of their way to help you. The front desk and concierge here were so helpful, she wrote down step by step train directions for me to get to my hotel in Tokyo. They helped me rent a bike from another hotel to explore Kyoto on my own. The room was very comfortable and clean. I highly recommend this place! The location is right in the center of everything!

We stayed here for two nights in a twin room and enjoyed it very much. Hotel is new and located in the middle of the city. Most of major tourist attractions sites are within a one hour walking distance or $10 cab ride.
Room was large and Non Smoking was true to it's name.
Price is very reasonable at about $110/night.
As many people recommended, we had breakfast at the excellent bakery next door.

Great location in the centre of town. Don't stay near Kyoto station. Boring! This hotel was easy to get to using your JR Rail pass to Nijo station (or something like that) then the subway to the nearby station to the hotel.

Anyway, hotel is immaculate. Rooms amazing and location superb. Re kyoto, you see one temple you see them all. We stayed for 7 days which was way too long. 2-3 nights would do it.

Enjoy

THis hotel was great and central without being over the top.Wish we stayed more than 2 nights..
Staff very helpful and a nice drink by the bar before going out. We had a room with 3 single beds as had our daughter inlaw and grand-daughter join us.The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was big and modern and as my husband is 6'2 space wasn't a problem. If you walk out of the hotel to your right is like a mall where you can buy nice food, gifts and a massage at Raffine which was reasonably priced. We came to Japan for 10 days and got a 7 day JR railpass and I paid a extra $92 for greencar(like first class) so worth it- better toilet, leg room, comfort and always spare seats as economy too many people and not always get a seat together and you can also use of buses taxi's not too expensive, visited temples etc, hotel staff had maps to show us where to go.In the same building but next is the bakery where you can get a good Western b'fast. Trisha from Darwin Australia.

Room Tip: Paid for a Superior twin but I think we got upgraded as had a 2 year old Darling with us.The bathroo...

We had two triple rooms (essentially two single beds and a roll away bed) for six of us. The rooms were tight with the extra bed, but not too bad. The hotel is in a great part of town. Very close to shopping and places to eat. If you're a runner, you are only a block away from the river and you can run along the pathways for miles! There is a Starbucks about a block away, but they don't seem to open before 8:30 or 9AM...best bet for your morning coffee is the 7-11 around the corner. The hotel staff are very friendly and communicate in English quite well. We had them arrange for baggage forwarding to Tokyo and they filled out all the forms and took measurements...great thing to do if you are planning to take trains or subways in Tokyo to get to your hotel - you don't want to try to pack into that train with luggage! In reality the hotel was a comfortable place to rest up each evening, but there is so much to do and see close by and within Kyoto, that you'll probably not spend much time in your room.

Room Tip: We faced the street and wasn't bothered by street noise.
