This is definitely the hotel to go to if you are do not want to stay in a ryokan in Kyoto. The location is just great for walking, shopping and going out in the evenings. Transport to other areas is also very accessible by bus, taxis or underground.

The hotel itself is very nicedly designed with a spacious attractive lobby and reception, a nice bar and very comfortable rooms. Service is excellent and the staff are very friendly.

Would definitely love to go there again and highly recommend to all.

This hotel is very well located, close to many shops, restaurants and bars. Kyoto's attractions are not concentrated in a single area of the city, so being close to a subway station and with access to buses was also great.

My room wasn't so big, but was nice and quiet.

I would stay here again in a next visit to Kyoto.

Stayed here for 3 nights in December 2012. Was recommended to me and I would pass that recommendation on. Location is good. 5 minute walk to Pochoto so easy for restaurants (at all ranges on the price scale!! and a great little bar down Alley 13). !5 minute walk to the Geisha district.

Hotel itself is fine. Nice (smallish rooms). Breakfast expensive so as four of us we at out. Plenty of places, including a nice Boulangerie next door). No wifi but single travel router worked fine in 2 rooms)

One tip - we stayed 26th-29th December. Imperial Place and nearby castle both closed. Not a problem for us as were were a bit 'temple'd out' but check openings if you really want to see something specific
Standard, corporate, type hotel but that is what we expected:-)

Room Tip: Had two rooms. Both were fine

This hotel is in the perfect location, the rooms are nice and modern and clean and the staff are very willing to help. The restaurant isn't great but there is a nice little bar area for a night cap. Would definitely recommend this place if you're heading to Kyoto.

After all the good reviews we found the service here disappointing, perhaps because they were so busy over New Year. The location is great near Sanjo station for train and bus, but not very easy to access Kyoto station as you need 2 trains or a bus; a taxi is better abt ¥1200. The hotel is near a mad covered shopping arcade area which is nice to browse in the early evening. The rooms are small but comfortable . Some staff had limited English and the concierge was often snowed-under or not around. We were left to lug 5 big bags to our rooms. I'd be hesitant to book here again

Room Tip: If you want a double bed not 2 singles be specific!

As other reviewers have said, this was the best hotel we stayed in while in Japan. the room was a reasonable size, the windows opened, and the breakfast, while not cheap, was excellent, and very relaxed - we lingered for ages. The staff were very helpful and very friendly. Highly recommended.

Loved this hotel!!!! Have stayed at many hotels across Japan from 2 star to 5 star and absolutely love this hotel. The location is AMAZING! Wouldn't stay anywhere else. The staff were great, the room was good and the price was good. Would definitely recommend and definitely come back here!
