“We absolutely loved this hotel and its position!”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

We absolutely loved this hotel and its position.
We did stay at hotel for 6 days- 4 days in twin studio through hotels.com (around $100 p/n) and extended our stay for 2 days in premier twin studio ($140), which is basically the same kind of room, just there was a balcony (did not use at all as too hot outside!) and a little sofa which can be converted in the extra bed, instead of armchair in non-premier studio.

Both studios were absolutely perfect for stay, very roomy, with comfy beds, controlled aircon, TV, armchair and small table, writing desk with chair, a kitchenette with microwave, hotplate, cups, plates, frypans, pans est; the toilet with amazing advanced technology which washes your bottom or front with warm water on pressing a button.
Fast wireless and wired internet in the rooms- free of charge. Launderette in the basement of the building is available for guests, with dryers as well, all for a small fee of 1-2 dollars. Rooms were cleaned daily, dishes washed, bedding changed, Reception personnel has a very good English and were very helpful, always greeting you on coming and going out, as all other Japanese people everywhere. Outstanding polite Japanese culture everywhere, never heard a raised voice or child crying loudly. Hotel itself is in the very city centre. Taxi in Kyoto is very cheap, don’t know about other cities. Was using taxi a lot because of affordability. There is Tesco food shop (hashimi, sushi, ready meals, beer, tea, bread est) may be 250 meters away and 7/11 opposite of hotel. There are 2 cafes very near hotel, with a good food and very affordable prices.

Room Tip: Twin studio is the same as premiere twin, just little setty can be converted into extra bed, so it i...

Fantastic space. Well-appointed rooms and zen-like entry space. Walking distance from the train station. The Citadines has great kitchenettes and comfortable beds. My only complaint is that they nickel and dime you for things "over and above" the standard -- like sheets for the sleeper sofa (23 yen per night). Great value. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

The best about this hotel was its location and friendly and helpful staff. Its rating was quite high on TA so I had somewhat higher expectations. The room was quite small (it is listed a 1 bedroom with kitchen, but the size of the whole thing was smaller than regular motel room in the states). No coffee at all in the room (there was tea kettle with 2 tea packages per person per day :). Their breakfast was terrible - don't bother, there plenty of better options around. Since we didn't spend much time in the room it worked out fine for us, but if you are staying for long time and really looking for larger place with kitchen (there was a stove and tiny fridge, but no table you can have a meal on) look elsewhere.

Lobby maybe is little bit to dark but with charm of kyoto architectur style.
Room is very spacious with all facility and very comfortable .
Location is good near bus stop a subway station , 24 hour shop , restaurant and supermarket

We booked two rooms as there are five of us and took up a special Citibank price which was a contributing factor in choosing this hotel. When we arrived there was an issue with bedding which was sorted quickly and to our satisfaction.

The rooms are a good size for Japan and spotlessly clean. For us the hotel's location was superb and within easy walking distance of Kyoto Station and the Gion.

All staff speak English well and we would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for 6 nights in June. We were really happy with our choice. The kitchenette is handy and the room was a nice size. The room divider was great at night when we put the little one to bed. The staff were all lovely and very helpful too.

Good location near the subway entrance and walking distance to Kyoto station. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant next to the hotel one night and the 7-11 across the road was good for snacks (especially those mint flavoured chocolate mushrooms...wish i'd brought some home!)

Would definitely stay here again. Clean, safe and comfortable!

Room Tip: Had a room facing the front and the road noise was fine.
