As others have noted the rooms are large by Japanese standards. It was quite comfortable, well appointed and clean. We requested a quiet room and were given a room on a higher floor that faced the back. It was very quiet and met our needs.
There was free wi-fi in the room which is quite rare in Japan.
The front desk staff were uniformly excellent. They were helpful, knowledgeable and patient. The lowest price I found was 10,000 yen on the Citadines website. When we were considering extending our stay the front desk quoted us a much higher rate to continue staying on.
There is a two-story hand made noodle restaurant to the right as you exit the hotel. There are several chefs preparing noodles downstairs behind glass and you can observe the entire process in about twenty minutes. Quite entertaining! The food was very good also.
We've stayed at the Citadines Shinjuku in Tokyo several times and have enjoyed that hotel as well. I prefer the Kyoto Karasuma-Gogo branch. The rooms are newer, larger and the windows open. I will definitely stay here again.More
