I should start this review by saying it is my daughter's favorite restaurant. She loves the mango lassi, chicken skewers and the giant naan. It is a cozy, tourist friendly spot a block of so off of Shijo Dori and very convenient. It isn't cheap. A visiting friend recently told us she had read a review in Lonely Planet, which lead her to believe it would be cheaper. First of all this is Japan and many of the items used at Y & Y are imported or labor intensive. Expect to pay over 2,000 yen per person without drinks. You can do it cheaper if you order lightly from the a la carte menu. Nonetheless, if you are a tired tourist I am sure that Y & Y will be much appreciated and is a local favorite. It's great if you are traveling with kids or teens, as everything is in English and they make the curries in any level of spiciness. The interior is clean, relaxing and nicely decorated. It will always be a family favorite.
