This was by far the best dining experience we have had since arriving in Japan a week ago. When we arrived in Tokyo we tried many Yakitori restaurants, the food was nice but the restaurants were all filled with smoking businessmen, finishing work for the day. That was fine for them, but a very bad experience for us. Torito in Kyoto was so different!! The food was to die for! The staff were so friendly, and even though they did not speak much English they tried very hard to help you. I'm not sure if we were just lucky, but there were very few, if any, smokers in the restaurant which made it such a pleasant experience. I love my vegetables, but found it hard to find anywhere that served them fresh. At Torito's there were plenty! Peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, asparagus, and they were only the ones I saw! Their vegetable spring rolls with Asian dressing were so amazing, we ordered a second one. We highly recommend it.
