A little Chinatown in Kobe, if you've been to Chinatown's in say London or Australia; this is the same type of atmosphere except its in Japan! :D

A few of the restaurant owners/workers are actually from China! So no problems communicationwise if you're Chinese speaking yourself :)

If you don't wanna sit down they also sell buns and stuff at stalls so you can eat and walk at the same time :)
Nankinmachi is very close to shopping arcades as well :)

Small in comparison to other Chinatowns elsewhere, but bustling, colourful and lots of eating places and street food being prepared. The usual Chinese souvenirs also available.

Very centrally located so you are likely to be close anyway, and worth a slow stroll from one end to the other with numerous photo opportunities.

Cleanest Chinatown anywhere.

Restaurants are also plentiful and the price is very reasonable.

It is very small, we were left with the feeling "What? Just this?" It is a destination to eat food but to experience a real Chinatown, you need to go somewhere else. It is no more than one small pedestrian road easily finish the street in 20 minutes walking slowly.

Is it a must see of Kobe? No.
Is it a good place to eat cheap eats in Kobe? Yes. Especially during lunch hour when the food carts are all going at full steam.

Been passing trough Kobe's China town here, it's relatively small but a nice walk with a nice flair. If you walk with family and are not on a big shopping spree it only takes 20minutes, than you seen it all - from outside.

Chinatown is always a place worth visiting .The entrance itself gives you a feeling that your you are approching chinese culture. There are number of shops selling different products. We spent more than three hours moving around chinatown and shopping there. We had an opportunity to share some typical India snacks with the local chinese women in chinatown. The town market is very colourful. What we surprisingly liked most was the keenness of security personnel in preventing tha road accidents while crossing the roads.Adequate security personnelhave been posted to man the road crossing by pedestraints.Wonderful.There are number of localrestaurants and they are always crowded.
