If you are touring cities in Japan you will likely come upon many of these types of covered shopping arcades. We did in Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo. If you are coming from the JR Sannomiya station, walk in a southwest direction. Entrance is off of Flower Road. After a few blocks we actually cut north past the railroad tracks where we saw quite a few kobe steak restaurants. Just look for Ikuta Road. Many restaurants along here and adjoining alleyways.

Despite people traffic, there were rooms in the shops and eateries to accommodate shoppers/tourists. Prices were reasonable with a wide variety of items from many vendors to choose from

The street has a cool vibe, particularly at night, and there are loads of local establishments you can visit here. Most are quite adventurous so you need to go in with an open mind and confidence.
