We spent one night in Kobe, passing through. The map on the hotel's website was terrible; we couldn't find the hotel on our own and walked around for an hour, asking a few people until we finally got there. It turned out to be super close to the station. However; it's not close to ShinKobe station (but the subway is close and it's just one stop to the ShinKobe station).
The staff were very friendly (one of them walked me all the way to a restaurant that evening) and the rooms were cheap and good value for your money. We had a double room en suite. The beds were comfortable, there was a TV and the bathroom had everything we needed (shower, toilet, sink, shampoo, body wash, even cotton pads and toothbrushes).
I looked out the window and all I could see was the brick wall of the building next to us. However, we didn't go there for the view, so this wasn't such a downside.More
