The entire complex evokes strong emotions but being at this monument in the presence of large numbers of children was a uniquely moving experience.

Have you ever heard the story of "the Thousand Cranes"Well this is it. The monument brings millions of origami cranes each year from around the world and allows education on what is surely a difficult subject for children to understand. Our Children were stopped in the middle of Kyoto by a lady who gave us a few hundred cranes and asked that we share them with the school kids so they can all spread the word. Fantastic place.

Very humbling experience and touching. The paper-made cranes deposited are simply beautiful and a silent tribute to all the young ones who lost their lives in the war.

The children's peace monument is very moving and beautiful. Definitely my favorite part of Hiroshima's Peace Park.

Be aware. Bring your "origami-no tsuru", your paper-made crane, done with your own hands, in reverence. Deposit it in silence, in an act of deep meditation, with the thousands, millions, of tsuru that people from the entire planet already brought. Then ring the bell. For all the children assassinated in all the wars, and with it's sound commit yourself to the fight against more children deaths and against all forms of violence.
