I like the symbol of the flame. Here it is not an eternal flame like most other flams. Instead, the flame is intended to only light up up until there are no more nuclear arms in the world. It's a sign of hope that someday, true peace will be achieved in our fallen world.

This looked like a nice place to congregate to commemorate those who have died. Unfortunately it was too crowded at the time to walk up to.

Another place you have to see in Hiroshima is the stark, simple and rather magnificent cenotaph. It seems to be alright to take pictures, but it is also necessary to be reverent and sensitive to those burning incense. You can stand there and look through its arch to the dome beyond.

A simple but emotional reminder of the atomic bomb in Hiroshima. Located between the Peace Memorial museum & eternal flame.
