Worth a visit even although I found this a very sad place to be. The museum is very interesting and I learned a lot of a side of history which, I think is left out of the history books!
We were fortunate enough to meet a man who was a baby at the time the bomb went off. He survived because his parents protected him. We rang the bell of peace before we left and I bought a book about Sadako and her paper cranes.
Highly recommend this visit.

This was a very moving museum and completely opened my eyes to the true horrors of WW2. If you are going in August time, visit here on the 6th August, this is the anniversary of the dropping of the bomb. Unfortunately visited on the 4th so missed the memorial service. We were told that they have a whole ceremony and release lanterns down the river for every life lost. The photos look so beautiful and I'm very sad we were unable to experience their memorial service. There is a charge for the museum but it is very low (only 50¥)

This is well worth going to. I spent 2 hours looking around. It was great to get a good background on the bombing of Hiroshima

This showed the devastation caused by the dropping of the atomic bomb and the effect on the population. It really asks the question 'was there another way'.

It tells the horrific story of a city that had nothing to do with the war but was made to pay the price and be punished for the sins and greed of others !
We cried , but we will tell their stories , we will do our duty never to let this happen , but you have to come here and see for yourself because words cannot begin to tell the story !
