“Perfect location”
Reviewed June 15, 2014

The hotel is perfect located next to the river, you just take tram I think number 1 from railway station to the hotel, it takes about 20 minutes. Breakfast is buffet style, some japanese and european food, beautiful view from breakfast hall on 15th floor to the memorial park. Memorial park is just 5 minute away by walk. For dinner we take Okonomiyaki in restaurant just close to the hotel in narrow street on the left side on the corner, 2 okonomiyakis and 1 huge draft beer was 1900 Yen. The commercial avenue is about 10 minutes by walk away. The area is completly safe also in the night. I suggest walk through Memorila park earlyin the morning and very late in the afternoon. Next day we take a tram no. 3 to Miyajima, it takes about 45 minutes, the tram stops behind the bridge over the Memorial park. Hotel is clean, rooms are standard for Japan. It is better to asko for rooms in higher floors with view to the river. I recommend this hotel because of location and cleanless, but as you know in Japan is very high cleanless standard. We were there for a Golden week, so the hotel was more expensive than other hotels we had in Japan, but only because there was a festival on 3rd and 4th May in Hiroshima, on other dates it was much more cheaper.

Room Tip: Take rooms on higher floors with view to the river.

The hotel seems to cater to businessmen and Japanese tour groups. Our room was small and dull but very clean with a capsule-type bathroom. Adequate but no more. Some rooms must face the river and I expect would be more pleasant...ours faced another tall building, making the room dark. Still, for the price the location couldn't be better. Just steps from the Peace Park and Museum, the A-bomb dome and the lovely river walk. Perfect for those who don't spend much time in their room!

Room Tip: Ask for a river view.

The room was a bit small, but that seems typical in Japan when compared to American hotels. The location was great. Easy walking distance to the A-Dome and Peace Park/Museum. The hotel is extremely clean, there is free wifi in the lobby (not in the rooms), a bar in the lobby, and a small convenience store in the lobby as well. Overall, no complaints about this hotel, and a great place to see if you want to see the major sights in Hiroshima. It is also right by the river, which has a trail to walk/jog along.

We stayed two nights at the hotel. The room was small, basic and very dated but considering the price we paid it was okay. The location was good, just a short walk to the peace park and memorial. If you're on a budget and not staying in the room much but just looking for somewhere to sleep it's fine.

We were really surprised that the cheapest hotel on our Japan trip was just as good as most of the others. This one has an excellent location about 5 mins from the peace park, which is the main reason many visit the town. Clean, small double room- actually better than some of the other more expensive hotels. A safe bet. In general we didn't find much more than a day's worth of things to do in the town though.

We experienced the smoke smell too and needed to change rooms. The new room also smelled of smoke but with the aircon on the smell faded. The rooms are massively dated and in dire need for a full refurbishment.

We also found the third bed uncomfortable with springs sticking through the mattress. The hotel staff were completely unprepared to help. Saying no to our request for additional duvets/blankets to make it more comfortable. They kept claiming they had no spares which is surprising for a hotel! But after threatening to make a formal complaint they bought us two blankets which we used to pad the springs on the third bed.

The breakfast here was also below average.

If I return to Hiroshima, I'd be staying in the Granvia instead.

The hotel is fine for a one night stopover. It's clots to the Peace Park and most things you want to see in Hiroshima and the view from the restaurant, where we had breakfast is lovely. While the room itself was clean there was a pervasive smell of cigarette smoke that seemed to get into all our clothes.

Also the women on reception when we first arrived was a little surly and less than welcoming...not a good first impression.
