“Peaceful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013

These gardens are a must to anyone visiting Hiroshima. The gardens are beautiful. We were fortunate to visit during Cherry Blossom time so the trees were in ful bloom. So peaceful a setting and hours could be spent in this lovely place. Hope you enjoy as much as we did.

“One of my favourites”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2013

I've been to dozens of Japanese gardens and this is one of my all time favourites because of its central location and compact size. You can see so many great features without spending hours and hours. And the cherry trees were in bloom when I was there which doesn't hurt.

“A beautiful spot in the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

Although we visited in January and thus were not surrounded by a lot of flowers, we found this garden to be a beautiful spot, conducive to wandering in it for an hour or two. The ponds and bridges are delightful. The Prefectural Art Museum abuts the park. Although the museum admission fee is rather high, you can buy a combined ticket for the museum and the garden for a reasonable fee. Visit the museum and then exit through a special door directly to the garden.

“Have your camera ready”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2013

Gorgeous gardens that will have you clicking away for an hour or two. So many beautiful scenes to remember. Buy some carp food from the little shop and be amazed at how quickly dozens of huge carp will gather in the water close to you. You almost feel as though they would allow you to pick them up! Take some time out to sit and enjoy these beautiful gardens which were totally destroyed by the A Bomb and have been completely restored since. Do remember that there are the remains of many ABomb victims buried here and tread lightly and with respect.
