Moving, informative.... really makes you think. A place that everyone should visit in their life time. Ive read some reviews that say it may be a bit one sided, but we did not feel that, It honestly depicts what happened in the lead up to the bomb and the immediate minutes, hours, days etc.

Thank jessica G

Spent an entire afternoon there. You can never fully imagine the turmoil that was caused and the horror that these poor people went through unless you visit. Be prepared for a very emotional experience. I walked around there with tears in my eyes for the most part. Read all the information, sound the bell, take a while to fully take in the dome building. Leave the memorial area with a lump in your throat and a renewed wish for world peace. That's what I did anyway.

Like most places that you see in the Peace Park area, this hall is set up to offer its point of view of the atomic bomb. In this case, it is a historical record of the victims atomic bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It does this using both extensive lists of names as well as the voices of those who remembered them, pictures and video. I found the Hall of Remembrance to be very well done and a nice place to sit and think. Admission was free. It can be seen in a short amount of time.

As part of the over all Atomic bomb park it's great. It's peaceful and nice for a good walk around.

This building was established by the Japanese governement in 2002. It contains the names and photos of the Atomic Bomb Victims as well as written and recorded memoirs of the survivors. You can see some of the photos on one of the walls inside and hear some of the stories from survivors. There are a few artifacts on display, but not as many as in the museum. There is also a library which gives free access to anyone who wants to look up any info. regarding victims and survivors. The info. is available in 4 languages including English.

The biggest thing to see in here is the 360 degreee Hall of Remembrance. As you turn around in the hall you are looking at the view of the bombed out city as seen from the Shima Hospital which is the hypocenter. Below are the names of the neighborhoods that existed in Hiroshima at the time of the bombing.

The memorial hall is in the peace park and is off to the side near the Cenotaph and Eternal Flame. It only takes 15-30 minutes to visit. It would depend on if you want to hear any of the recorded stories that they have playing or not. We did listen to a few of them.
