“A little dated but comfortable”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

I have stayed here a few times but only when the Granvia was fully booked. Food and service is very good. Very handy location for the memorial park etc. Rooms could use an update but were very comfortable.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are slightly bigger and have better views.

The hotel was clean, we had a comfortable bed (double) and staff were very polite (a norm in Japan). The rooms were a little dated and small (but probably not by Japanese standard). The location was great, easily accessible from the station and close to Peace Gardens and the Palace. The only downside was you had to pay for internet.

You cannot beat the location as a tourist. Easy to get there - just catch the excellent trolly system outside the station and it brings you to within a block of the hotel. If you have a JR Rail pass the trolley is free. Or at least we think it is - we were not busted during a couple days here. Rooms are very nice. I was expecting things to be not as good since the price we paid was very low. Room was huge, too! Ask for a view of Hiroshima Castle as you get a great view of the mountains too.

Room Tip: Ask for room with view of the castle.

Stayed at this hotel because of the hotel photos and trip ranking. It was fine but needed some updating especially in the bathroom. The staff was friendly and the lobby was massive. Was close to many sites.

It's not that I had low expectations for this hotel, but it was just so much more than I had expected. The enormous lobby makes quite an impression, and our rooms were quite decently sized, by tiny Japan standards. The hotel is in a perfect location; it's perfect if you're going to hit all of the must-sees in Hiroshima. It's directly across the street from the Hiroshima Museum of Art: a relatively small but very worthwhile museum. On the other side of the museum is the castle. In the other direction of the hotel is a very large shopping arcade with loads of restaurants and shops, and on the other side of this is the Peace Park, A-Bomb Dome, and Peace Museum. The Dome is on one end - the end nearest the hotel - & the Peace Museum is on the other. In a walk through the park, you'll find countless, beautiful memorials. I have been to Hiroshima twice, and I would definitely stay in this hotel again. It could not be better located; it's very aesthetically attractive; and the price was extremely reasonable.

Room Tip: If you can get a hotel on one of the upper floors, your windows will either look out on the Castle o...

For a first visit to Hiroshima this hotel was an excellent choice. It is close to the main sights and convenient for shopping and finding interesting restaurants.. The rooms are large and comfortable. The breakfast was satisfactory with a choice of western and Japanese dishes. Apart from the Peace Park and museum, a visit to the world heritage sight, Miyajima island and the Shinto shrine, is something that cannot be missed. A visit to Hiroshima is a unique lifetime experience never to be forgotten.

This was a great, modern hotel with a great location for the Peace Park, shopping etc.

Room Tip: As for rooms facing the "castle".
