“Beautiful place to walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2013

Beautiful, big park. Lots to see and do. We loved the scenery and atmosphere. It's a lovely place to walk around or sit and have a picnic.

“The perfect memorial for such a tragic event”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013 via mobile

Hiroshima peace park is a perfectly designed place to inform, educate and remember the tragic event that took place here. It is not too 'in your face', but rather a fitting tribute to the so many who lost their lives. It is about opening people's eyes, so tragedies like this don't happen again, rather than blame. Harrowing, yet a stark lesson for all. An absolute must see if you're a tourist in Japan.

“Hiroshima Peace Park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

This was a tremendously well done memorial with information, remembrance and no blame. The park is laid out in the area near where the bomb was detonated (600 m in the air), and shows what happened before the day, on the day and after. It sends a very powerful message that this should never happen again.

“Peaceful, fitting memorial to the 80,000+ dead”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 16, 2013

A lovely place, beautifully laid out and with plenty of space to walk and take in and think about the various memorials in the park and what they mean, as well as a good place to contemplate after going to the museum also housed there. The park was fairly busy when we went in January, but still seemed a quiet and tranquil place for reflection. The memorials there are beautiful and thought-provoking, and it is an important place to visit for any trip to the Hiroshima area. The space seems to operate like a Japanese garden to give those who walk through it and stop at its 'attractions' the space and time to think through what they're seeing, and what they've read about at the museum and by each each memorial.
