Sapporo Ramen Yokocho is a small alley in the Susukino nightlife and entertainment district. There are several shops serving the world famous Sapporo ramen noodles and the hot favorful broth which will keep you warm on a cold winter night. For 1,000 yen you can buy a char siu ramen, with a broth made from boiling chicken and pork bone for a long time. The broth was light and not greasy. The noodles were curly and a little firm, not soft, just right to match the soup. The char siu(roasted pork) consisted of five large pieces that covered the large bowl, along bean sprouts, bamboo shoots and green onions as condiments. For 700 yen you could get a bowl of miso ramen with a soup base of miso(soy bean paste) which was slightly sweet. Toppings consisted of one piece of char siu, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots and green onions. On the restaurant walls were the autographs of famous people, including one from Anthony Bourdain and the "no reservations" crew. Sapporo Ramen Yokocho is a must visit!
