“A stadium in the outskirts of a big city”
Reviewed May 31, 2014

Good for sports, not so good for concerts. I went this month to a concert (Fukuyama Masaharu Live Human Tour), and it wasn't a pleasant experience. The rule applied to sports of no bottles allowed in the stadium, didn't work at all for the concert, spilled water, soda and beer covered the floor as soon as the people started to dance with the music. Acoustic wasn't good, and if you lose something like I did (I forgot my make-up purse in the crowded bathroom) there is no lost and found services, and no one knows how to deal with common situations like this.

“We saw the Fighters !”
Reviewed April 6, 2014

On a previous trip to Japan in 2009 we saw the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighter on TV and since then we're fans. So the goal for this trip, see a game live. We were lucky that we were in town for the first pre season game in the Dome. What a great venue, we were super impressed, Awesome view, service, light one of the best stadiums I've been to. Inside one forgets the sub zero temperature and snow outside. To make it excellent the underground train should have continued till the Dome !

“Excellent Kids' Playground”
Reviewed February 11, 2014

We were looking for an indoor playground for my son and came across this one at Sapporo Dome! We didn't expect a stadium to have such a good facility for little ones.

The stadium is very new and with very clear signs all over the place. The kids club is located on the 3rd floor next to the observation deck. The facility itself is huge and ample of room for the kids to run around and have a great time! Best of all, it's FREE! This place is open from 10am - 5pm but you need to check whether there's any event happening on the day you wish to visit. It may not be opened due to events. Their website is: http://www.sapporo-dome.co.jp/guide/kidspark.html

The best way to get there is to take the subway (Toho Line) to Fukuzumi station (last stop on the blue line). Once there, use the Exit 3 to reach the street level. If weather permits you can walk to the dome and will take you around 10mins. Otherwise taxi would be the faster mode of transport and will set you back around Yen 680.

There are food stalls within the stadium but may be closed during non event days. But there's the good old vending machines for you to quench your thirst!

Highly recommended for kids to have a great time indoor when the weather is not too kind on you. By the way, they have baby or young toddlers facilities there too.

“One of the best stadiums in the world!”
Reviewed December 7, 2013

Fantastic and modern multi-purpose stadium used for both football and baseball. Also a great concert arena, and were used for the Nordic Ski World Cup in 2007. Looks like a spaceship from the outside. There are also daily tours if you just want to see the dome and the museums etc with memorabilia from WC 2002 etc.

Go there for either a football game with Consadole Sapporo, or baseball with Nippon Ham Fighters!

“Magnificent Dome”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

Went to visit the Magnificent Sapporo Dome for Concert. Huge and iconic. Nice cafes and eating places with souvenir shops. After concert in the cold weather, they have this heating element where parts of the exits have hot air blowing out to keep you warm. Impressive. They also have a information counter where the staff are extremely helpful and fluent in English.
