Guess you will have to walk here just to say you have been here but along your walk around Sapporo city, which is not huge anyway, you will come across Susukino anyhow. The usual - shops, food outlets etc are found here. Not just in Susukino, but these are found everywhere else too. Just a wider street as this is one of the main streets.

There's so much to explore here... lots of food options for you to choose, from sushi to ramen to shabu-shabu. Can't get enough of ramen here in Hokkaido....

During the Sapporo snow festival, Susukino Ice sculpture festival was held on Susukino main street.
We saw Dancing phoenix, Polar bear, Eagle and Okinawa historical castle "Syuri jo" .
The castle had warm-sea fishes in it. Interesting!!
We visited In daytime, were able to see the detail of sculptures.
I heard that these sculptures were illuminated at night. We missed it.

Great place in downtown Sapporo. No trip is complete or even possible really without visiting Susukino. Make sure to check out the covered shopping arcades to get "interesting" souvenirs for the folks back home.

Susukino has definitely a lot going on, it's the site of the ice sculptures part of the Sapporo Snow Festival as well as has lots of shopping, restaurants and clubs. Since our hotel was in this district we spent a lot of time wondering around and checking out different restaurants. Our favorite was the ramen alley, where we had awesome ramen for lunch! There are plenty of tiny restaurants and you can't go wrong with any you pick. We also checked out a crab restaurant (one of those with a huge crab on the side of the building) and the food was amazing! Great crab sushi. We didn't go out to any clubs but there were A LOT of them around this area. Overall, fun area with lots to do! Make sure you check out ramen alley for their famous miso ramen!
