Owner description: One of Japan’s most famous entertainment districts, Susukino is teeming with noodle restaurants, clubs, shops and pachinko parlors. Pachinko is a cross between pinball and slot machines.

Had lunch at the alley. Went to the restaurant where Tony Bourdain ate a bowl of crab & scallop raamen. Saw his signature and picture on the wall. There are 2 alleys. Go to the original old alley. It has a more quaint ambiance than the newer alley.

The night life district of Sapporo. Every kind of restaurant, bar and watering hole you can think of. Open late every night, We always end our evening in Susukino. By day a shoppers mecca, and by night a party girl and boys dream! Very safe and easy to get around in.

At noon you may cross Susukino and do not recognize it. But if you came there in the night you will be met by thousand bright lights and many young Japanese walking along the streets. There are hundred restaurants and bars, and, of course, Pachinko!. No doubt Susukino is the brightest place in Hokkaido.

We walked from Saporro JR station and it took us about 30 mins to get to this entertainment district. Sights such as the Clock tower, TV tower and Old Government building were all along the way.

We enjoyed ourselves squeezing into a little ramen shop at Ramen St, slurping up our ramen amongst other tourists and even locals. It was interesting to see the ramen chef prepare all the food live.
