“Pretty Cool!”

Although it is all in Japanese we were able to understand most of it through pictures and artifacts.

“BEER!!!”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

Perfect destination after a long day on the slopes.
Ordered 3-kinds of beer, didn't really know the difference but they were all perfect - for a beer.. :)
They have all sorts of beer here, like Beer Chocolate, Beer with no alcohol, and other weird beer stuff.
The architecture is awesome, really looks like a beer factory except the actual beer making.
Not too far from JR Sapporo Station - about a 10-15minute Taxi ride.

“Great experience”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Terrific displays (not much in english but the photo's are great), you then get a beer and snack to eat in lovely wooden hall. But the best part was the souvenir shop - Beer Jelly in Chocolate - wow!

“Drinking from the source”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

Well worth a visit for the novelty value. Housed in the original brewing building the exhibit gives a Japanese language history of Sapporo beer alongside some of the original brewing implements. You won't see live or modern brewing techniques, but the exhibit is very well presented, and at the end of the tour for a modest fee you can taste the various versions of the product in a beer hall. Getting there is easy. We took the Sapporo underground from Sapporo station; Toho Line to Higashi Kuyakusho-mae, then Exit 4 and walk South for 10 minutes on Higashiyama Nana Chome Dori to N8 E8. Once outside the station there are English language signs with directions and distance beside the road. Easy.

“Not Worth It”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

We had a brilliant buffet there in 2008, so it was very disappointing to only find a cook your own Genghis Kahn type of beer hall now. The Sushi had poor tough rice, fish a bit dry, not too impressive. Everything cooked on the hotplate got too hot, and burnt, not easy to use. King Crab was very good. Lamb was fatty and very poor quality, in fact all our clothes stunk of old lamb fat for days. I'm an Aussie and love lamb, but even this was too much for me. There are probably 300 odd places better than this in Sapporo.
