The location is about 5 minutes walking from JR station, which I find very convenient. The subway station is right next door, too.

The room I got is very spacious for Japanese standards and has all necessary comforts. However, the carpet could use a thorough cleaning and the room amenities could be modernized a little.

I loved the traditional Japanese breakfast on the 25th floor with the nice view of the mountains. Be sure to get there early to get a table by the window.

The in-house convenience store is rather convenient and well stocked. Staff are very friendly.

Overall a 'good' experience.

Room Tip: take a room high up, nice views!

Not the worse place I've stayed. Hands down- the best baked potato I've ever eaten was at breakfast. Large selection at breakfast. Very small room but that's japan. The location seemed fine since sapporo isn't huge. Not very memorable and needs an updating but it was a bed to sleep in nightly. They did help arrange a day of skiing and have a currency exchange but the rate wasn't great. Lots of free samples in the gift shop. Better places to stay in sapporo but hey- coulda been worse!

I didn't had any "BAD" experience but also have no reason for recommendation. Could be nice if you are visiting with your friend. There are some restaurants that opens till 3am or some markets with different foods and so. Room was extremely big for Japanese hotel but again... Couldn't find any reason to recommend or not. For business, might not be bad. For tour.... I doubt it.

Staff were nice. I'll count that.

This is my third review of this hotel which is my choice of stay whenever travelling through Sapporo.

Once again, the service was outstanding. The staff are friendly and helpful and the perks awarded to IHG members and to ANA Gold card members makes it my first choice for business travel. On this stay, however, there were a few issues that caused an unfortunate poor hotel stay experience which appears to be due to the seasonal change in climate. The weather was slightly below freezing in the evening and around 5 degrees Celsius during the day. We found the room extremely dry and very warm throughout the day and were disappointed with the lack of cool air from the air conditioning. I complaint about this to staff but the issue could not be resolved as it appears that this hotel's air system can only operate on cold or hot and is unable to provide both throughout the hotel. SInce it was cold at night and perhaps some Japanese enjoy their room temperature to be set very high...we felt our room was more like a sauna than a hotel room. We had the air conditioning set to the coolest temperature but since the hotel was blowing warm air in other rooms we were very uncomfortable.

We tried to seek relief with a visit to the lounge but quickly turned back as we hit a wall of tobacco smoke that permeated the air. It would seem that there is a lack of air ventilation in the lounge to combat the disgusting cloud of tobacco smoke. Disgusting that some hotels continue to ignore the health of their customers by allowing them to be poisoned by smoking.

Room Tip: Great in mid winter or mid summer but not in between.

The best advantage of this hotel we found was we can ride an airport limousine bus in front of the hotel. The view from the window of the bus was excellent!!! And we could walk in underpass from Sapporo station to the hotel and it was good to use when it was snowing or rainy. People in the front desk could speak English well although the person who helped our check in worked slowly.
The window of our room was large enough although TV screen was small. They provided a pajama and the room was a little bit large more than average Japanese hotels. The temperature of the room was warm although we went there in February. A convinience store was in the first floor of the hotel.

We went to Sapporo for the snow festival 2013 and were looking for a well situated hotel, easy to reach and withing walking distance of Odori where the main ice sculptures were. ANA hotel fitted this well. I booked three weeks in advance and expected to pay a bit more than normal due to the festival but to pay $284.25 per night when the normal rate is $64 for the same days is robbery. But, i paid it.
Secondly the hotel is close to the station and there is a bus that stops in front of the hotel direct from the airport. Bus no 14. The hotel has several restaurants and a very nice Sky bar on the 26th floor. Even if you don't stay in the Hotel, the bar is nice for a sun downer or to enjoy the views of the city. The Hotel also has several restaurants. We tried the coffee / tea lounge on the ground floor. They have a nice selection of pastry's and cakes. We also tried the Chinese restaurant on the 25th floor but only did so because there was a blizzard blowing outside and we did not feel like going out. I cannot recommend this restaurant at all.

The rooms are incredibly small. ANA was the third hotel i stayed in while on Hokkaido and it was unbelievable! One person had to sit on the bed if the other wanted to move. After climbing over a suitcase. The windows do not open and the room was very hot and stuffy even after switching of the AC. The walls are paper thin and we listened to our neighbor's TV and romantic interludes for three nights in a row. The bed; the floor is more comfortable. Oh, and take a pillow. We eventually rolled towels into our pillowcases to have something to sleep on. The room, though old and tired was well cleaned daily.

So, if you get the cheap rate and the location suits you, this may be your hotel. But, if you want some creature comforts like breathing room and a vaguely comfortable bed, there are many other hotels in Sapporo, with great locations, keep looking!

Room Tip: Not sure - we had a standard double?

This trip stay 4 nights with my girlfriend.

We do sending email to check with any special amenities can be made for us as we are celebrating our anniversary, but their responses are extremely slow.

We reserved this room by using staff rate, we booked two twin bed, but we send email long time ago to request one queen/king size bed..... they do not allow us to change and only give me one option is pay extra money to upgrade (and the cost with public rate and no more staff rate) of cause we reject.

Before we arrived and once we arrived, everything still be good as the location is quite nice, 5-7 minutes walking distance to JR station, 2 minutes walking distance to subway station.

Once we check-in, they need us to pay extra to get upgrade for our one queen/king size bed which we requested, but I already rejected and it seems that they force us to upgrade... by spending 10-15 minutes, problem solved as remain to the original booking.

They do provide six pieces of chocolate as our anniversary celebration amenities.

Room is small, no view at all. Before we check out, then is a night mare:

We got many things that we need to pack and we plan to mail something back to my hometown as well as get some paper box, we call down from the room, the FO agent mentioned they have 24 hours mail room can help us. So we come down to front desk, we ask the same question to the FO agent, but he said "NO THIS KIND OF SERVICE", and mentioned the hotel do not have any mail room can assist guest to mail things back to my hometown...and furthermore is we check with him regarding HOW I can mail my things then or any outside company can help us to, he said NO this kind of service. This is known as poor service without solving guest inquiries, it's fine that your hotel to not have mail room for us but we just ask you where I can find the mailing company and the answer is NO. what a joke?
Also, we ask him to get some paper box, and guest what? He said NO paper box and mentioned there do not have any paper box can provide to the guest. what a joke that 5 star hotel do not have 1 paper box????

The service quality is extremely extremely bad!!!!!! this is really really a joke that "NO PAPER BOX CAN PROVIDE TO GUEST".... even I stay one night at hostel or 3 star hotel, they also have paper box as well as can find the mailing company location.

For sure, never go back to this hotel anymore!!

Room Tip: 1) Not choosing this hotel can help you to get a better room in another hotel. 2) If you want to sn...
