“Little to Buy, But Great Eye Candy”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

Remember to walk on the left (and avoid being a "bad machine") through these vast caverns beneath central Sapporo. In winter, they are packed.

You'll see the occasional amateur arts/crafts/music event, big screen sumo wrestling and lots of Japanese people avoiding the deep snow aboveground.

Endless shops offering nothing I would ever need or want to buy, but a lot of fun for a stroll just the same.

“ALL DOWN THERE”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

we were here during winter, and because it was like -6C outside, we tried hanging out down here and check out what's in there, to our surprise, almost everything is down there.
Souvenirs, Chocolates, Ramens, and all sorts of shops, not to mentioned it's right under the JR Sapporo Station and connected to a few other stations/lines.
Very convenient.

“Very nice.”

The life of a subterranean termite. More people and stores are below ground in Sapporo than above. The place is really interesting and a fun place to go.

“Very interesting”

It was definitely one of the most interesting underground shopping spaces in Japan. A great place to hide from rain.

“excellent place to escape from the freezing cold”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

being here in winter, i noticed not many locals out on the streets and was surprised to find the undergorund space crowded, especially so on a weekend! the place is really spacious and with many shops lined along the way, it is a great way to escape from the cold chills outside
