Great place for anyone who likes nature, flowers, and Giant play area with interesting themes for kids and the young at heart. Kids can spend the whole day there. Bring a mat and pack a picnic or eat at the snack areas / restaurant. Worth the 40 min drive from Sapporo. The park is huge. Check out the map and locate the nearest carpark to the area that you want to visit.
Went here at the end of Mac 2019. In fact the day we came was the final opening day for winter 2019. Our kids extremely enjoyed the activities here especially the tube slide. Highly recommended to family with young kids.
We had our lunch at the rest area.
The toilet was clean and easy to use.
Park is itself beautiful by surrounding hills, forests and rivers
Destinations combine with nature and possibiltes of winter and summer...
Woud like to VISIT again ##
Had a great day in takino park ,incredible scenery (We 're lucky cause it has been snowing for over a week before we arrive )white snow everywhere , it was easy to get there ,but start the day really early get there by 1030am ,cause the last bus leaves park 330pm . We started with the rubber tubing sliding down the mountain ,good fun .and after a few runs up and down the mountain ,we walk around enjoying the view and a stop in the cafeteria where they serve lovely dessert and a Hot coffee . We try skiing (cheap rental gears ) awhaha I fell on my bum in less then 10 minute (But don't worry with the snow as your cushion I didn't felt it haha . Lovely day
We visited on Christmas Day,taking a taxi to Makamonai subway station as we were running late and wanted to catch the 10. 45am bus.
At bus stop 2,do stand in line to wait for bus 106 as it only takes up to bus - allowed capacity. The ride to Takino SuZuran was pretty as it passed residential areas with houses all covered in snow.
Upon arrival, within 50m, you will find lockers, which we used to put stuff we didn't need.
There are more lockers inside the place.
It was minus 9 degree celcius that day.
Most activities are free and well organized with a queue system to ensure safety. You will need to walk some distance to the sledding and tubing area.
Ski rental was a reasonable ¥2900. However, the most fun was just playing in the snow and taking in the experience. The place is huge so there is no problem with crowds.
There is a cafe serving food and a drinks at reasonable prices. Also nice kids play area.
We took the 3.30pm (i think it was the 2nd last bus of the day) bus back. Again, do remember to line up early to board.
All in, a great day spent and also one which didn't cost a lot.
It opened for the winter season on 23 Dec 2018 and we visited on 24 Dec. The place becomes popular with Asian family tourists who visit Sapporo. Suggest to visit early in the morning. Take the Chuo Bus #106 at Bus Stop #2 outside the Makomanai Subway Station (the last station on the Green Line). Best way to get around on subway and bus is to use IC card (either Kitaca, Suica, or Sapica, etc.), so no worry about the ticket & fare. The bus will end its journey at the destination, again no worry about which stop to get out. Walk pass the Gate which have Information Officer greeting visitors. Free entrance in winter. About 100 meter, you will find a place to rent ski gears (slope and cross country types) with reasonable rental fee for the whole day. If you want to play with sliding tube on the slope, no equipment rental needed - it's free. Restaurants and hot snack shops are available. Reasonable price.
Great place for children to play in winter snow.
