I just returned from a wonderful 2 nights stay at Cross. The rooms were a bit tiny but overall grat stay. Loved the rooftop lounge area with a fantastic view of the Sapporo TV tower and the rooftop public bath,

What I want to contribute is that we had difficulty finding the hotel once we got off JR Sapporo station from the airport.

1. The hotel is new and the subway maps DO NOT indicate this hotel
2. The hotel is built recessed into the street with a space in front. There are no signs and you cannot tell where the hotel is until you literally walk past the front of the building.
3. There are many steps to walk up from Exit 5 of the underpass (almost 2 stories). and this exit is still 10 mins walk away if you get your bearing right.

So my advice:
1. If there is no snow and sludge try to walk at street level. Once you take subway exits you tend to get disorientated at street.
2. There is an alternative exit at TOKYU department store with lifts from B3 to street level, this is great esp if you have heavy luggage.
Look for this exit, it is past exit 5 , down the corridor and turn left about 20 metres away. Once at the exit of TOKYU ask for directions to the Sapporo Clock Tower. The hotel is on the same street, just 100 metres before the clock tower.

Hope this helps!

This was fairly easy to find from Sapporo station and it takes you into the city instead of away from it. When we asked, they pulled out a map and wrote down the nearby--and farther--locations that we might want to visit. The interior design was amazing and there were a lot of neat effects, like light designs on the building's exterior. We also visited the bar, which albeit lonely had very attentive service. The room was very clean and also had its own unique design. The bath on the roof was also a great feature, particularly in December. One room of the bath was in a closed room, but there was also a small one with one side that opened up to the fresh, cold Sapporo air.

We stayed in this hotel during winter (December) 2013. We had a short walk from The JR Sapporo Station, to Cross Hotel. We took some time to find the hotel as it didn't stand out among the restaurants and convenience stores. The hotel is very modern and luxurious especially the lobby(Floor 2). The lifts and corridors along the aisle of hotel rooms were very dimly lit and mostly all black, creating and eerie feeling. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and stores like 7-Eleven,(convenience stores but I would recommend you guys to use 7-Eleven). there is an especially yummy Japanese Crab shop which filled our tummies! The shop is very near Cross Hotel, which means you do not need to get too chilly as you will soon be greeted by the warmth of the shop. The hotel room is quite spacious. Our room had two single beds and a sofa bed which could fit two people.I personally recommend to let the kids sleep there. The toilet facilities were in good condition and were like brand new! There is a bath tub which is about 125cm. The service was superb and they could speak simple English . The room was clean and was almost the best hotel I've ever been to.On the highest floor of Cross Hotel, there is a bath, where you can relax there at night.Overall, I would strongly recommend you guys to go to Cross Hotel if you are having a family trip!(The room would fit if you had a family of four.)

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors aren't that noisy and you would have a better chance of sleeping well...

This hotel is at the top of its game in terms of design.
Short walking distance from the train station which makes it very convenient to travel around. Close to convenient store. Only few blocks to the prime area where shopping arcade is. Close to Hokkaido Clock Tower.

Good room layout. Nice bathroom with excellent water pressure.

The On-sen was a bit uncosy but good enough for a city hotel.

Only problem we experienced was the broken ice machine which had not fixed for all 3 days we stayed there.

I stayed in this hotel in October 2013. I absolutely recommend to anyone. Magnificent service, great location. Rooms are super clean and you have a nice bath tub where you can relax in the evening. There's a window in the bath room overlooking the city. Breakfast was very nice. Okay it was lacking some bread, but it is such a minor detail and if you're fan of Japanese food they have plenty of that.

There are also hot baths on the last floor of the hotel where you can chill in the evening. Many places around where to go to eat. All in all - a great experience.

We stayed at Cross Hotel recently for four nights, taking standard twin and single rooms. The staff at the counter understood basic English, and we had no problems with checking in and out. The concierge's English was even better - in helping us enquire with ANA about our air tickets, she perfectly understood our concerns.

The Hotel has a modern design, and three types of rooms: natural, urban and hip. We were given "urban" rooms on the same floor that were not too far apart. The rooms were on the smaller side, but not claustrophobic. They were always spotlessly clean, and I believe the sheets and towels may have been changed everyday. The bathroom amenity sets provided were lovely, and you will not need to bring anything. They give you a comb, toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving kit (with a smooth razor), and nice-smelling Ella Baché Paris shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

We were on the 7th floor, and had no issues with noise from both the street and the other rooms. In fact, I was in Sapporo for a holiday from work, and had a fantastic, rejuvenating rest there.

The Hotel's location is not too bad. We were walking everywhere - from the Sapporo train station itself to as far as Nakajima Park. It is only if you are travelling with people who are unable to walk much, that you might want to consider the JR Tower instead, which is pretty much above the Sapporo train station.

If you are taking the train from New Chitose Airport, hop off at Sapporo station, take the lift or escalator one floor down, and look at the signs for the underground walkway called Eki-Mae Dori Underground Walkway. Walk along the walkway till you reach Exit 5 (on your left). It takes only around 10 minutes. Like Kenny_Cool said, there is a lift at Exit 5 that you can take to street level. The walkway is especially useful in winter, as it is warmer than walking in the open.

Generally positive... Only negative comments I have is the air conditioning. When the weather get cold outside the A/C is switched off and only drawing the cool air from outdoor . Although portable fan r provided, it can still b warm in the room. Maybe when the weather get colder the room will b cooler.
