HOTEL MYSTAYS Sapporo Station
Ranked #27 of 173 Hotels / Ryokan in Sapporo
Reviewed December 11, 2013 via mobile

Stayed for a night. In terms of location from Sapporo station, there are other options available. Room size is small compared to another hotel that I stayed in sapporo (even nearer to the sapporo station than Best Western). Breakfast is simple but sufficient. If you are looking a low cost, no frills stay, then it is fine.

If you're looking for basics this is a clean, friendly and convenient location. You can't beat the price either, especially for Japan. I booked the single non-smoking online and when I checked-in, they only had smoking rooms. They smelled, but not too badly. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom amenities were nice. The breakfast buffet was actually quite nice with a range of western and Japanese options -- very limited fresh fruit though. The front desk staff had VERY limited English skills, so you won't get too much help looking for the latest bar or hottest restaurant in town.

The hotel is in a decent location. 5 min walk from Sapporo JR station which is pretty much the heart of Sapporo.

Hotel staff speaks decent English, but seems a bit irritated when I asked him questions in regards to eatery around Sapporo. Lacks wifi in hotel rooms too

If you are staying there with little help required, this hotel is definitely for you

Stayed here for 2 nights and below are my feedback:

Pros
- Excellent location. It is just 3-5 mins walk from Sapporo JR station (north exit)/ Sapporo JR Tower. In or next to Sapporo JR tower, is Daimaru shopping mall, Stellar Place shopping mall, Sapporo Bus station, T38 Observation Deck (Sapporo JR Tower) and a few other shopping malls, therefore it is very convenient - eating and shopping.
- About 15-20 mins walk to Odori Park / Sapporo TV Tower / Sapporo Clock Tower and maybe 20-25 mins walk to Tanukikoji Shopping Street. The weather was awesome (16-12c) and I enjoyed the walk there.
- The hotel has washing machine and dryer, where you just insert coins to operate it.

Cons
- Room size is very very small. There is hardly enough space to put your luggage let alone walking around the room. Was thankful that I stayed only 2 nights here.
- I dont think the room is very clean, especially the carpet.
- It is more expensive vs Grand Park Otaru hotel. I understand that this is because of the location

Overall, I dont think I will stay here again if I am in Sapporo. I would prefer to commute from Otaruchikko, Grand Park Otaru Hotel where the room is much bigger and the surroundings is beautiful

Room Tip: If you are not a smoker, I would strongly advice you to request for a non smoking floor when you are...

We stayed there for the first night at Sapporo, and it is located in a great area, very near train station, it takes about 3 mins by foot. The lobby is small but cozy and warm, the room is tiny but very clean and the bed is so comfortable. I would like to stay it again for my next trip at Sapporo.

Stayed here for two nights - if you can get a rate under $130 I would say grab it. Literally 4 blocks from the train station - the lobby is modern and elegant. Rooms average size for Japan - incredibly clean like most Japanese rooms. Books up fast so plan ahead.

We r a family of two adults and two young kids. We had a three twin-bed room. Small room but clean and the mattress a bit too hard. Its very close to the North gate of the Sapporo JR station. About a 3 min walk. There is a Lawson across the street and a yakitori place next door. (We can smell the roasting chicken every night!) Breakfast is good value (1000yen/ per person and 500yen/ per child) with basic Japanese and western foods. The restaurant on the 1st floor "Nihon Ichi" is an izagaya. Seafood not great but good wide selection of different kinds of dishes. The front desk was friendly and English speaking. No problem upon check-in or check-out.

Room Tip: Looks like all rooms r small.....
