“nice tower looking over Qianjiang river, but it is closed for renovation”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

This tower is one of the most attractive place to visit in Hangzhou, that is, when the tower was open to public. We visited it in July, and it was closed (the tower itself). You still can get into the park surrounding the base of the tower (need to pay small fee), but the tower is closed. They renovate it every 10 years or so. When it is open again it will be one to visit.

“Cool”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

This was pretty cool. I just wish we were able to go inside. It's under construction right now. But the views are nice once you get up there.

“Definitely worth visiting”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

Six Harmonies Pagoda is an iconic Hangzhou landmark and stands out from the rest.

The pagoda is climbable (quite easily so and affords you great views of the south of the city. The tower itself is very interesting and much different than others in China. It is definitely worth an hour or two of your life. Having lived in Hangzhou for a year, I would say it is one of the best attractions the city has to offer.

“Worth the climb to the top”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

There are several picturesque pagodas in Hangzhou, but our guide scoffed at most of them, saying they were modern reconstructions. Six Harmonies Pagoda certainly has more of a sense of history. The climb to the top has around 200 steps, but you can take breaks on lower floors if this seems too much for you.

“Six harmonies pagoda- very harmonious indeed!”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

The Liuhe Ta (six harmonies pagoda) is a very tranquil place. It has seven storeys. There is a small chamber at each level and many lovely paintings and patterns on the walls in each storey. The red and blue shades used for the colors in these paintings and roof brackets are brilliant. The views of Hangzhou from the top are magnificent and breath-taking (from one angle, you will see a majestic river ahead, verdant forests behind and in the distance, Hangzhou's skyscrapers). It is so stunning but very relaxing as well as you are so far away from all the busyness of the city or life itself!

Apart from this amazing pagoda, there are other things to see. The Pagoda park has models of all the notable old pagodas in China. It was amazing to walk in the woods in search of these. The Liuhe Bell is worth seeing too.

This is a wonderful place to visit. Don't forget to carry the mosquito repellants or bug sprays- you will need them!
