It is definetely a very nice hotel for the price you pay , all sorrounded by trees, there is no western breakfast but the chinese one is plenty enough i think, very close to the lake, When you hang around Hangzhou it is easier if you tell the driver the name of the Hotel instead of the street where it is located, the streets are all wavy and confusing , so they know the hotels by the name not the address.... Just go to the taxy driver and show him or tell him the name of the hotel, don´t get him confused with the address

An absolutely beautiful location. Large, comfortable room, bogglingly high speed internet (I wish the states could get that fast). Food was buffet style and, while plentiful, was only so-so - but perhaps it is just the region. Not all of the staff spoke English - but was never a problem. Make sure you take a walk around West Lake while there and visit the village up the road.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a VPN set up before you go to China. They are currently blocking Google and for those of us who have become dependent, it is a serious problem. Even typing the word "Google" into a Skype conversation results in immediate disconnection...

The hotel is very good and quiet, a bit far away from main roads. about 5 -10 minute walk from the bus/taxi SanTaiShan road, but it is therefore a real green oasis. The taxi drive to main attractions and restaurants in Hangzhou takes 10-12 minutes, while you can enjoy walking to fish ponds and other WestLake attractions directly from the hotel.
We were really surrounded by water when the rain was pooring for 2 days, as the small roads leading to the hotel were turned into small rivers.
The staff was friendly and helpful and there was a guy who spoke very good English (which is a very important advantage! :)). Though there was no internet in the room I found a connected computer at the office.
We loved the place and If we get back to Hangzhou we shall definitely stay there again.
TIP: don't forget to take hotel address card every time you go anywhere in China :)
