I know this hotel for the almost past 10 years. Although the food is still enjoyable, it is no more the sumptuous buffet it used to be years ago, and way cheaper than today's prices.
A good place to stay, but I think it's a bit pricey for a place that hasn't been totally updated (Lobby is still the same as 10 years ago. Same comment for the ugly dark blue toilet seat and bath tub I had in my room..!)
I would suggest internet connection in the room to be free, at least. It does not make sense to charge for this now.

I have the pleasure of staying in this hotel for two months. I love this hotel and the early morning walks by the canal just 2 minutes away. Attention from staff has been excellent and measured so that they are not intrusive. The Holiday Inn breakfast, always good, is the best I have ever expeirienced. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanzhao. Peter Wolfe

I stayed here during a business trip due to the location. Although the location was the main reason i chose the hotel, when i arrived I was pleasantly surprised to find large, well appointed rooms and friendly staff.

The business centre was fine, but I ended up using the wifi in the lobby most of the time. There is also a good sized gym, rather than the pokey little things you often find.

I did manage to get out of the hotel a couple of times. On the staffs recommendation I checked out the silk markets, which are only a short walk away.

Overall, great & well located hotel.

This Holiday Inn in Hangzhou is nicely located within walking distances of restaurants ,superstores and canal and the Silk Market .The staff at reception is welcoming and is probably most pleasing english speaking staff at Holiday Inn in China .The down side is expensive breakfast and very expensive WIFI ....but the staff was very nice to permit me to use Priority Club at Floor 25th without any charges for free Wifi .I would certainly go back for their wonderful hospitality .

Stay with my wife for 2 nights in there.

The hotel itself is old but our room is a premier which has been totally refurbished ,bed is terrific ,lcd tv,sofa, ok & enouth in all. There is a TESCO & silk market nearby.

We have breakfast & lunch in the hotel,ok but nothing special.

15 minutes distance:
a)、15 mins walking to wai-po-jia restaurant @ ti-yu-chang road near hangzhou daily building & to zhang-sheng-ji restaurant @ shuang-lin raod;
b)、15 mins walking to John Leighton Stuart old house;
c)、15 mins cab to hu-xue-yan old house,qing-he-fang old street & west lake;

Clearly know that taking a cab in hangzhou is a tough work especially in peak time to or from hotel. Or you may take tu-tu but be careful it's unsafe & bargain first.

Lastly, if you drive to the hotel, parking will be another problem coz the hotel shares the area with others, they will arrange for you after your check-in.
