It's an interesting place. I was lucky that first time I had with me a guide who explained me a lot of details.

A great piece of Chinese architecture, lovely inner courts. A good place for artistic photos.

Large complex with utterly fascinating decorations, rooms and garden. The bloke owned the equivalent to 50% of China's GDP at the time, and was one of the only businessmen who could ride a horse and wear yellow in the Forbidden City- in short, a bit of a legend, who built a great house and a great garden (with caves!).

Right next to the drum tower, this is a must see!

not too big city, easy, comfortable city for walking, need to slow down and enjoy it more. Old and new things all together

Other than the West Lake, this is a must visit in Hangzhou. The residence is a very beautifully landscaped Chinese garden with lots of ponds, rock sculptures and even "tunnels". It is amazingly cool even when the temperature outside the residence is hot. You feel this sense of peace when you are walking through the grounds. Visit it and you will know what I mean.
